I just wanted to send warm hellos to everyone.

I've been away from Hypnothoughts for a couple of weeks - just taking some time off from spending so much time online. I love connecting with my friends here, but don't you find sometimes that you need to get outside in the fresh air, feel the earth beneath your feet, breathe in the sunshine, maybe pick up a pencil or a pen and a notebook, go for a swim, find your own rhythm...?

:-)

I hope you are all well and happy and enjoying your creative lives wherever they may take you.

I also thought I would let you know about the new blog I have started for creative writing for personal development, health and well-being over at: http://wordsauce.com/blog

Please do come and take a look if you are interested in this area.
Have a deliciously juicy day!

Thanks Sophie, and welcome back, (you have been missed),

I agree that taking a break from something, and doing something different for a while is a very good practice.

one comes back refreshed, and with new creative energy.

Had a look at your blog. I am very much interested in life stories, and how people choose to tell them.

I tend towards the redemptive version. but I fluctuate between clasical heroic saga and soap opera, with a bit of sit com thrown in. I do rarely slip into tragedy too, but usually end up painting myself as the conquering hero.

Like Theseus, I love following the thread through a labrynth.

Love and hugs,

Fable
Ah, thank you, Fable. It is great to be back.

Thank you also for taking the time to read my blog post on storying our lives.
Yes, it's interesting to reflect that we might have a particular style of narrative going on and whether that is helpful to us. Thank you for sharing some of yours.

I think mine has changed over the years - and continues to change and develop. At one time in my life, I got a bit stuck in a 'damsel in distress'/ 'mother' narrative, thinking I had to take care of everyone but secretly hoping that a knight in shining armour would come and rescue me. Of course, he didn't. In fact, he may have been kept away by the enchanted forest that I had grown all around me. :-)

It was incredibly powerful for me to realise through my writing that this is what I was doing. Then I could take steps to change the story.

Ha ha,

I have been there.

Sometimes when I am doing Macrame, or weaving up in my atic, I cast myself in the role of the Lady of Shalott, but we all know where that leads to!
