Has anyone had any experience with GroupOn in marketing their hypnosis practice. I've heard positive comments and I've read horror stories were businesses were forced to close....any thoughts?  Thanks.

I have never used Groupon.    I do know a hypnotist who does, and the groupon is good for GROUP hypnosis sessions-  not individual sessions

Bascialy, they put together a monday night "group" on weight loss, etc.   Runs 6 weeks (for example)  and the groupon is good for those groups.

The idea is to use these low cost groups to funnel clients into higher priced individual work.

Not my cup of tea, but proably a good way to get people in the door, and make the community aware of your services...

Hopefully osme who have used these services will see this and reply, but I suspect not very many hypntoists have tried groupon..

We use GroupOn for one of our businesses and I would say that it is hugely successful.  We had one drop last night and so far 57 people have bought in.  From past experience a decent number of those will continue training with us after the GroupOn session is over.   For us it works but this is for group fitness classes.  GroupOn gets them in the door and we then get to show them why they should keep coming back.  I do not how this would work for hypnosis sessions but I can tell you that I would not do it for private lessons.
