Who's HomeStudyCourse was it? Did it include video.
Was the video of good quality. Especially the audio. Was it echoy was the video quality like your uncle's fuzzy vacation shots. It would be hard for you to glean essential information if those two parts were poor and then there would be the presentation of the content In the video. Was it a one shot deal fast once through and you were expected to be able to break it down, yourself step by step.

Ah, you use the word "failure". Hmm, I think you need to stop that right now! Do not claim that word. What you are experiencing may be some technically difficulties. Slow down say to yourself"what did I just learn from that. Learning. Big leaps of learning happen not when everything goes along perfectly.

Maybe choose one technique. And work on it. Then later another.

Try doing a slow progressive with a client. Thenjust after you bring then up and out do a rapid. Do it a couple of times. They will be more responsive for it at that time.

Your own subconscious will get the feel of it. Do the slow progress to two people at the same time but only do the rapid with the one client. The other client is just watching. And they'll be pretty impressed. The good feelings in that experience will build confidence. Keep doing it to more sets of two maybe three at a time.
But for awhile I wouldn't just do a rapid. Give yourself some time to get the feel of the moves and the feel of successes.

You don't need to know anything about embedded commands, metaphors, or hypnosis stories at the moment. (You'll want to learn about them down the line, but for right now, don't get distracted.)

 

You asked Anthony Jacquin if your definition of hypnosis is right. There are hundreds of definitions of hypnosis--no one is really right or wrong. Some are more useful to certain people; some seem more accurate to certain hypnotists.

But seriously, you need to do several things before you get caught up in doing rapid inductions:

 

1. Experience hypnosis yourself. Find a hypnotist to guide you there, so you'll know what it's like. If you can't find someone in person, Richard Nongard has a YouTube video for this purpose; there are sample recordings available at various places; and there are also people on HT who will do it over Skype.

 

2. Take a regular hypnosis course in person, with a live instructor. Learn to do a progressive relaxation induction, a visualization induction, an Elman induction. When a musician learns a new piece of music, he starts out slow, gets it right, and then speeds it up. Do the same with hypnosis.

 

3. Learn how to do a pre-talk. If you tell your trancer that hypnosis is sleep, then you've already set yourself up to fail.

What I would like to know is that if that was your first course?

Because learning hypnosis from a video like learning a martial art or something else on video is great for you to see what is done but not to see if you are doing it right, it ends up being slightly better than earning a language from a book and never hearing it. Do not let this get you down, without the basics under your belt, a rapid induction course will only train you to to just that without giving you feedback on your abilities.

 

So my question is what other training have you had?

Would you be willing to hypnotize someone on video for us?

And Get Anthony's book Reality is plastic, he's truly a brilliant bloke!

I do not think it does, to this point there is nothing that direct suggestion cannot accomplish, it's later on when you use conversational indirect conversational techniques that you don't even realize you are doing that you can have a problem related to that.

 

For now, be simple, hypnosis is easy, be clear, hypnosis is not obvious to most and be patient, you were born a subconscious communicator and it is now the conscious part of you that is trying to do the work that should be left to your subconscious.

 

Get hypnotized, get a feel for it, have friends help you by being your subject, test different techniques, relax, enjoy, be part of the process not outside looking in, you will get better but do get more training in for the scholastic aspect.

I will Try and get Anthony Book "Reality is Plastic" The Instant Induction Course is my First Hypnosis Training By Nathan Thomas with 5 Training Videos but poor Audio Quality and he was Talking too fast but this Young Dude (Nathan) is very Good and scary at instant inductions. He looks like Harry Potter. Hypnotising subject under 3 seconds

I have also watch Jonathan Royle Video "Full Body Catalepsy" and Other Outstanding Hypnosis Videos on Youtube etc

What Should my pretalk be like?

I may suggest that you start with creating hypnotic phenomenon without the "performance".

 

You can learn how to run through a mag. hands pattern quickly because you can read and remember. If you want to master the skills of stories, embedded commands, pacing and leading, etc... you have to be able to train.

 

examples of Street Hypnosis without the Performance element:

• The cashier has a headache... remove it
• Your waiter is nervous bc it is his first day... transform his nervousness into confidence

 

Your will find your pacing/leading skills become ridiculous, embedded commands flow fluently and stories with metaphors become part of your vernacular.

 

What makes someone a hypnotist?

 

Hypnotists create hypnotic phenomena. If you are limited as to when and where you can create hypnotic phenomena, you are a hypnotist with limitations.  If you can't create hypnotic phenomena, you are just some dude.

Thanks All, I successfuly did A 42 Seconds instant induction 3 Times on my Girlfriend Today in my Room. I am so Happy!

This was my Successful routine: (PRETALK) I Told her "In A moment i will do something that will instantly change your state of mind. You might notice it OR might not notice it. Is It OK for you to let go and allow your mind to easily flow into that state?" She said "YES". I replied "Let us pretend Now, In A moment, I am going to gradualy pull your hand to your face and when your hand Touches your face. I want you to close your eyes, fall on my bed and go into a pleasant deep slumber and feel wonderful. Does that sound wonderful?" She Said "YES". I now did the induction and she was flat on my bed. I instantly did this deepner "Thats right-Lying there with your eyes closed, You are going deeply into Trance now. All the way down. Even deeper and further into Trance with every rock of your body, With every Tap of my fingers.

Hi now this is starting to make a bit of sense. A home study course for rapid inductions with no prior training. Enough said, sorry if I sound harsh.
Hypnosis is simply an altered state of awareness, nothing magical, just a state we drift into many times on our own, a hypnotist is merely a facilitator to this state.
To tell your friend you could use it for weight loss etc too is not a good idea and please do not try any therapy without being trained.
You will as a beginner also find it hard to hypnotise people who are close to you.
You are not missing embedded commands and language you are missing the basic fundamentals and underlying processes.
What is your intention with hypnosis ? Is it to become a therapist or just for fun on the street ? If you want to become a therapist you need a proper course in a classroom.
Have you learnt any suggestibility tests ?

Again sorry if I sound harsh but just my opinion
