I have a client I work with on a regular basis. She is a very good subject, and I have been able to produce all of the hypnotic phenomona in her during induction and deeping, through test vchgallenges, including visual hallucinations. As a times saver I like to establish a post-hypnotic cue to re-enter deep hypnotic trace, and evewn deeper than the subject is during the time the cue is establish. I always wait to give this cue until I have success in producing total amnesia for numbers and letters of the alphabet. Normally this post hypnotic cue works beautifully in subjects who display all or most all of the hypnotic phenomona during depth testing exersizes. However, in this particular client, who dispalys not only amnesia upon suggestion in hypnosis, but visual  hallucinations as well...I can't seem to get the post hypnotic cue to re-enter deep hypnosis instantly, to work effectively in following sessions, thouigh I have tried to establish them numerous times as a trime saver in futrure sessions. Can anyone tell me why these cues might be failing, and what I maty be able able to do to help get them succewssfully established and operational.

From what I've read here, if I may share my experience. Some clients like spending the same time, and the same method used the first time, used each time, as their special way of being hypnotized.
I had a client some years ago, who had me host a series of regression sessions. One time, as I knew she was a deep trance subject, I told her I was going to do something else to induce deep trance, a little shorter, less time spent with the induction, more on the details. She objected, telling me she preferred the slower and longer style verbal induction for the regression session work we were doing. OK, so if that's the path you prefer best, it's fine with me, we'll just take the local road rather than the highway. We'll just that we take the same road back to the place you want to be. Just like some people go to some restaurant and get the same dish there over and over, so too might a client, enjoy the primarily established mode of induction, as it was a special experience, it was safe adn comfortable, it worked, it is familiar. In time, they might just change their mind, and want something faster, immediate, instant, but for right now, well, the 1st way was comfortable and best.
For so manyu others, I can reinduce, with Speed-Trance, or ice cold the same way, in fractions of a second. For others, slow and steady wins the race.
That is very insightful...and indeed this may very well be her subconscious economy on the issue. Thanks so much for this input.
Glad you liked the way I think. My pleasure!

I think the main reason why the suggestion didnt work well was possibly because you only gave them one censory input as the trigger. I always make my trigger something that combines sight and sound and sometimes touch. This way it has a strong inpact. Thats why the word sleep is a standard. :) It may just be the case that your client doesnt recieve the visual stimuli as well as you want them to. Also possibly when setting up the trigger tell them that they will close their eyes as wella s falling down to the deep trance. Closing their eyes is something they associate with teh trance state so when they do it it will help them get back to that state.
Some great advice here.

I find the easiest way of improving success with your reinduction cue is to get their attention before you fire it. 'Look at me...(pull earlobe)'.

The other thing you might want to tune is how you give the suggestion. Right now it sounds slightly too domineering with 'Anytime in the future...consciously not remember...etc'.

You may want to reign that in or at least give it some context so it is in her interest.

I would like to establish a special signal between you and I. This suggestion is not worded in present tense.

Any time in the future I give you this signal, it will act as a trigger for you to rapidly and instantly re-enter a profound hypnosis... This suggestion is not worded in present tense.

Now, in the future Do you understand now the reason why your results are not effective?

SLEEP NOW! Is a powerfully worded suggestion that works well in the moment with non-verbal cues.

I think I would just use a typical fractionation process within the session.

when i count to 3 you will open your eyes feeling xyz and every time i say  abc you will close your eyes and double this feeling of...

you get the point. the more you do that, the easier it becomes.

Also, she may need a process? so you might say -every time i count from 3 to 1 and say sleep, you will...

You can use a deep breath, 3 count on the exhale and sleep. It's more of a process and that just may be her understanding of how to go into trance
