Yes, certainly.  I have worked with one bruxism client, with considerable success, and now with a second one.  The best authority I know of is Dr. Janet Crain, dentist and hypnotherapist, who practices in New Jersey.  She spoke at the IMDHA/IACT conference last May, in Daytona Beach.
Scott Sandland and Sue Hull (dental hygeinist and hypnotherapist) specialize in dental hypnosis. Both have worked with scores of bruxers.
What is the methodology? more on the anxiety? more on the behaviour? Anyone has a step by step?

Hi Phillipe,

No doubt - that Dr janet Crain,  Sue Hull and Scott Sandland are excellent resources --

My years ago Diane Pope shared that she was able to help her husband who suffered from extreme grinding with the suggestion'  that during sleep - the moment his teeth upper teeth touched his lower teeth his mouth would automatically open and his jaw would relax... Saying that her suggestion worked like a charm...

I have used that model with suggestions that the daily relaxation just prior to going to sleep will release any unnecessary tension and the post hypnotic suggestion that during sleep the the moment that your uppers touch your lowers - you will relax your jaw and open your mouth and sleep peaceful for the rest of the night to help dozens of clients...

merci Michael. it is close to what i m using  ( without hypnosis) for the daily part. : teeth separated lips in contact ( it sounds better in french ;)

Do you have  afavorite induction and deepener for that? i think that an arm levitation would be good: it act as a convincer and shows to the patient that as clenching or grinding he can have automatic mouvements  ( split your teeth, join your lips . i m not absolutely sure that ok in english, but it sounds better ;)

I think that everything sounds better in French - Philippe-

I don't use conventional convincers these days - Instead I use my pre-talk to set the client up for expecting their desired outcome before we begin the hypnotic ritual and then offer suggestions that reinforce that belief.

Example, When you leave my office and the air touches your face you will fill up with an awareness that you have experienced something very powerful and process it accordingly -- Blah, blah, blah...

Warmest regards,
