Hi Pauline,
This was mentioned originally in a book called " Holy Blood Holy Grail " which was the one of the key sources for Dan Brown's " The Da Vinci Code "

It is a matter of personal opinion and belief I suppose - as most of what is written in the bible was agreed on by a council in Rome but I cannot remember who presided over this.

This also calls about the question is there to this day a mortal decendant of Jesus Christ if the book holy blood holy grail is to be believed the geniality had continued to this day.

Or indeed is the bible just a collection of stories passed on through time - something to think about!

Regards
Robert
One of the many miracles that Jesus was credited for was the "turning water into wine" stunt. An interesting read on things like this can be found if you search the internet for info on "Hero (or Heron) of Alexandria". He was an inventor and engineer extraodinaire around the time of Christ. He specialized in making devices for the different religious organizations at the time to help them.. um... gain memberships. Uhh..yeah, that's it...gain memberships. (they were the ones that routinely had the most money to spend on such things)
Hero of Alexandria invented the device that did exactly that, as well as the first coin operated holy water dispenser, and devices that would open and close massive temple doors and make it appear that the gods did it, as well as many other devices. He also came up with the method to determine the square root of a number using a guess, that could yield an answer that was accurate to 5 decimal places. Amazing stuff. Enjoy!

Just my two cents worth

yes thats it ! think that the bbc doc was about the book might have also been where I saw water being poured into double helix type machine and wine comimg out the other end !! ,,,,,,regards to the Bible New Testement was basically made up as they went along to suit the power driven of the day ,,, hence the breakaway
movements of the orthodox churches. Vatican thought they had crossed out any reference to re-incarnation which is what Jesus being a spiritulist /medium would have believed in ,,,,,,,,,Edgar Cayce found something in the bible ,,,,they missed,,, Jesus says he is Mekkizadec( the priest prince of the old Bible ) re-incarnated .........when jesus speaks through mediums today he says look to what Thomas wrote which has truth ,,,,unfortunatly once again the vatican holds all the cards on this ,,,,,
I invite you to check out the discussion in my group "can meduim ship be dangerous "
A Jewish Rabbi once told me The Bible is a History /journal of his people he said"" read it its not all about God "" its the story of the Jewish people warts and all written in the language of the day .
You are a brave lady to open this can of worms.
First council of Nicaea 325 a. d. Roman govt. decides rules and regulations for official state religion and compiles "bible".
St. Paul is responsible for "Christianity". The "Jesus" character had very little to do with the religion.
There are a few things that do not add up in the official story of the crucifixion: The Jesus character is given "vinegar" on a wet sponge as he hangs on the cross and "dies" shortly thereafter. Pontius Pilot is surprised when he is informed of his death after only a few hours.
There are many stories on the internet about this subject. I favor Billy Meiers version. I'll paste a paragraph or two from the Billy Meier wiki:

A person called Jesus Christ neither lived nor existed; not on Earth nor in any other location throughout the entire Universe.

The term Jesus Christ is simply the invention of some elements who lost their way in religion, and falsified history. The instigators who first created this nomenclature were Jmmanuel's brother, Jacob, and a person called Soul Paul.

According to Astral Theologists, the origins to the name Jesus Christ can be traced as far back as ancient Greek mythology long before the name came into existence. In ancient Greek the name "Yezues Christos" means the "Anointed son of Zeus" as a direct referece to the Greek deity of Dionysus. Since it is known that individuals who used the name Jmmanuel or Emmanuel during the prophet's time risked persecution for doing so, substituting the name with the another along with added mythology became the common order for the following three to five centuries. Likewise the Essenes regarded him with yet another name of their own as Joshuah or Yeshuah. In ancient India his name became known as Yuz Assaf from which the Arabs later called him Issa.
I believe he did exist but not in the way it is taught in the religions,,an old Nacctal Priest from a temple in the mountains of India who spoke and read the language of the Lost Continent of Lemuria said it was written in their records that Jesus spent 12 yrs there training to become a Master in the Cosmic Forces which included Mans first religion Moses used the questions in the Nacctal teaching and turned them into commandments

Mastership of the Cosmic Forces included, hypnotism, Levitation, healing the sick reverting to a light energy so he could re-atomize else where at will, floating over land or water. They called him Master Jesus but never used Christ (anointed one) Maybe that was his Lemurian name? He tried to teach that if the old way of living was followed we would all be able to do the same as him.
The Nacctal where driven out of India by the Brahmins to the mountains where some of their teaching can be found to this day in Buddhism,,,,,,, The crucifixion was probably invented by King Constantine a murdering incestuous sadomasochist for the sexual satisfaction of himself and his Court who where all of the same ilk,,,,,,by the way he was made a Saint by the Vatican
The Romans kept meticulous records of every thing they did ,for example I lived in the UK not far from the old Roman city of Chester, there they recorded how many sheckels of wheat they got from every fiield that was farmed,
It was on record that the robber Barabus was one that was cruzified that time but no where is Jesus mentioned in any records under any of the names he has been credited with also one important note they would never have used nails they where too expensive and would have used to much man power the metal was for the armies weopons. The law breakers where tied to wooden stakes (trees) hands tied above there heads feet of the ground which restricted their breathing and left out in the heat,,,,,,,,,, that did the trick

Jesus, presuming he was born into this world, on an auspicious day, at a perfect time, was born on February 28th, making him a Piscean, according to the famous recluse astrologer Dharman, in the year 5 B.C. at 5:13 a.m. in Bethlehem.

Just for fun I looked: "A Pisces born on February 28 strives for perfection. They dream on such a lofty scale that their reach often exceeds their grasp. February 28 people enjoy living in the limelight and gravitate toward a fast-paced lifestyle that offers them glamour and romance."

Obviously there is more to read on this.
