What are the Differences between Meditation, Hypnosis, Silva method, Subliminals, Guided Meditations

I thought this the place where more have practiced these to facilitate light working.
I'm just going to start this before contributing much as I have least experience of hypno.
I was interested to hear that 15 min of hypno is equivalent to an hours sleep as I have only found one meditation to give that noticeable a difference in time spent for results gained.

The difference in brainwaves is also an aspect I'd be interested in.
So if anyone has cross over experiences between any of these that they'd like to chip in from
or knows of any studies showing these I love to hear from you. thank you

If "15 min of hypno is equivalent to an hours sleep " then only 2-hours are needed daily for 8-hours of adequate rest? I have my doubts, yet it may be possible. Who can validate that?
I drove about 24 hrs straight and hypnotised myself when I bought gasoline (about 3 times about 15 minutes each). When I got to my destination, I didn't even feel tired and slept only 3-4 hrs the next 3 nights. I dunno if trance itself would do this because I did suggest to myself that I don't need to sleep.
Vince, your response is interesting. Your example implies a short term benefit. What happened after the third night? Did you have to make up for the hours of sleep that you deprived yourself from having?
I find this very interesting too especially as I have the possibility of driving overnight with my job. Im guessing you did need to make up those hours lost, cool way to stop tiredness short term though!

I feel the brainwave entrainment is different in that it takes one into the deep place where the relevant hormones are released, no doubt suggestion can enhance that.
Its effectiveness is dependent on how many hours are replaced so does suggest actual sleep gives something more.
