What is a lightworker?

Hello Emily, hope your well? What is a Light-Worker? Well Doreen Virtue is as good as place to start as anywhere I suppose, what I know is Light-Workers are people who have always had a feeling that they should be doing something in life more than just eraning a crust, a feeling that they are here for a very specific reason and part of that is to teach, to guide and to help humanity make the quantum leap forward in our development as a species. At this time we are answering a higher calling, regardless of religion, ethnic, socaial or cultural background, we are awakening to our life's purpose, our mission. Hope that makes sense and does'nt sound too far fetched. Take care Spiritual Warrior and hope to hear from you soon.

That is a great answer. From the time I was little I always thought I was special and was just waiting to be recognized. I know how egotistical that sounds, but I have also always felt that I didn't belong with most people and grew up feeling like an alien. Also, I always knew that I was supposed to DO something but I sitll don't know what that something is. I guess I always thought everyone had the same thought from a young age that we are meant to do something great... can't wait to find out what IT is!! =)

hi all

I was invovled in Conscious Living Magazine (google ) and Expo here west Australia for over 10 yrs and was fortunate to meet Doreen Virtue,and many many of the light workers who spend there lives and time touring the world to bring the Light into peoples lives( I call it switching them on) ) I have come to believe its a vocation, the wonderful Dolores Cannon is in her late 70 and she told me she does 5 different cities in one week !! I am very fortunate I have been given many gifts from the Universe and healing Hands of Light is one of them ,,and yes we some times feel almost "driven" to use them. I was given a mantra of a Great One years ago and it ended with ,,I ask that I may raise my Conscious to a level where I can be of service to mankind ,,,,,,,I like to think all light workers have done that ,,,,,,Love light & blessings

Hello fellow Light-Worker, great reply to the thread, I know that for me I'm just waiting for that 'call up' to go travel and sperad the word, light the light etc. For the time being I'm here in the Middle East and surpisingly enough I seem to be attracting a lot of people who have been looking for answers. I agree with the definitions offered here by Elkin and Pauline, as well as Emily's feedback, but have to admit my lack of exposure to any printed matter on the subject. I've long thought of myself as being one who brings/reflects light to the world, but I've also been very impoverished financially, and it's been a distraction. I've always gotten by, though, and have felt extremely blessed for that. I feel that my steps are guided, and that's more important than anything else.

I take every opportunity to reflect the light I find in others, to shine whatever light I can muster, and to show them their light sources within. I know that many nations and cultures are represented here, so I'll comment about how difficult it's been to bring a renaissance of consciousness to my native culture in the US. Seems we're white-knuckle-addicted to false paradigms here, but recent world events, unfortunate as they appear, are tilling the soil for great change, and that, with our help, should lead to great evolution.

I know I am not alone in these perceptions, but I confess to be grossly unread on the subject. I relish the opportunity to learn and share with those here, who are traveling the more broken path, as I hack onward through my inner jungle.

I started to see a healer who channels an indian guide just for fun. Imagine my shock when I asked a question in my mind and the healer answered it directly. I went a second time and this time I asked my guides to bring forth any informaiton they felt I needed to hear, but in case they don't have something in mind I listed several questions. Once again, Charlie (the healer answered one of my questions and gave me some additional information). He said like a puzzle I am given the pieces I need and the whole picture will be presented soon. Very vague, yes. But, this is the exact verbiage that I have been hearing or saying that I feel as though I am only given small puzzle pieces. So, as the pieces continue to unfold, I am pointed in a path and my calling is becoming clearer. So from my first post to today I feel I have made rapid advances to fulfilling my lightworker calling. Blessings to you all on your journey! I agree with you Greg that we are at a time where we can make changes in the world. Whether they are big or small are all part of the completed puzzle.

I am partners with a very gifted and talented psychic, and we work on improving outcomes of events she sees in advance. In other words, she may "tune in" to some disaster a day or two in advance, either locally or nationally, and rather than sit and go "Oh, no! What shall we do about my awful visions?" we actually still ourselves meditatively and seek ways to improve the outcome. Of course, we simply take much of it on faith that our work has any effect at all, but there have been cases, especially locally, in which the hindsight confirmed quite directly that our work had an effect. It's very rewarding.

We're conspicuously avoiding any and all reading on the subject, in order to pioneer our own pathways, and not be led by or follow the ruts in the road left by others. I personally feel that this is leading to a deeper understanding, experimental thought processes and a new paradigm in the way psychic precognition or clairvoyance can be worked with.

I'll invite her to comment here if she wishes, since it's her clairovyance and dreams that we focus on. She just became a member here a couple of days ago.

Whether it’s through inspiration, being asked for help, it seems guidance come in many forms usually when we least expect it.

A lady friend asked us if we could visit her mother, as she was in the hospital and there wasn’t much time left for her. The lady asked us if we could help her mother be more comfortable throughout her transition.

After visiting with her mother my wife (Diana) became very aware that her bed was surrounded with all her loved ones. Diana remarked that there was hardly any room for us. The room had piped in music, so I asked if it could be arranged that the music be turned off completely from the room as I thought that the music was very discordant. I made a special tape for her daughter and asked her to play the tape for her mother continually to help her feel more spiritually uplifted. This she did and her mother left within a day.

An interesting thing happened a few evenings later, Diana and I were doing a Reiki session with each other; playing the same music that I had recorded for the ladies mother. Diana said there is someone here that wants to thank you for the beautiful music you taped for her and that it helped her make the transition. She said that she was attracted here to our house because we were playing the same taped music.

Diana also got the impression that the lady was a very low key throughout her life but her heart was like an open book to everyone and that she wouldn’t have felt right not coming to say thank you.

Btw. If anyone is interested to know the music was “Silk Road” by Kitaro.

I have been studying Doreen Virtues books on Indigo, Crystal and Rainbow Children. It is her belief that lightworkers were the original Indigo children that arrived in the mid/late 50's and early 60's as scouts for the Indigo children that began arriving in the 70's, 80's and 90's. These children are being diagnosed with ADHD, autism, and gifted children. They also tend to be very psychic. We were placed here to help them.

Emily that was the first book I bought when I left my ex-husband. I still have it. It's a great book. I too felt like you did.. where did I belong.. what niche... I am a psychic medium among other things.. certainly a Lightworker... Healer .. Could go on with titles.. but my favorite is Integrated Therapist Your energy shines very brightly .... let it shine and you will find that your path becomes brighter .. easier.

Thanks for starting this discussion, Emily!  I haven't read the Doreen Virtues book, but I'll have to look it up.  I've felt similar to your situation, not necessarily that I was an alien, but that I was at a mismatch from most other human beings on the planet, and the more I discovered about the law of attraction, and from there into metaphysical principles, etc, I felt like there was a finer spiritual field that human beings could tap into with the power of thought.  After hearing the opinions of quantum physicists, metaphysicists, mystics, philosophers, and others, I certainly can't say I understand the science of it, but I am obsessed with it and exploring it, and that's why I want to tap into the experience and insight of like minded individuals like those in this group, so we can share, brainstorm, and experiment together.

 

As for goals, or a life purpose, I definitely feel like I have a lot of big goals that are much bigger than the capacity of one mortal to complete.  Most of them are within human knowledge to complete (or very close, maybe with more research), but definitely beyond the reach of one mortal to complete, and I'm convinced tapping into the metaphysical realm can leverage that human knowledge and effort to make it happen.  :-)
