Movie Reviews

Not as old as the written word, film is yet another wonderful medium - I invite you to recommend (add a Discussion) movies and documentaries which are in some way related (directly/indirectly) to hypnosis or the profession of hypnosis.

Addendum to group description:

The exploration and communication of ideas, the telling of stories, and the manifestation called Art, have for some years now come to us in the medium of “film” and more recently “digits”. You are invited to recommend (add a Discussion) movies, television episodes (which are wholly fictional or based on actual events), and documentaries which are in some way related (directly or indirectly) to hypnosis or the profession of hypnosis.

I will leave it up to you, but when recommending a fictional piece I will be very careful not to provide too much information regarding the relevance to hypnosis – sometimes the richness of the discovery is made possible when one enters with little expectation.

I also encourage you to involve yourself in the Book Reviews group.

Namaste,
(with reverence to you)
(love, integrity, wisdom, and peace)
Michael

Everyone is welcome to stop my my nice, new blog, where I will be selecting items from my collection of hypnosis-related material and blogging about it, which includes the movies and TV programs in the collection.

The website is at "http://www.hypnosisinmedia.com/blog/".

I agree, Avatar was visually stunning. I'm glad Cameron waited for the technology before trying to make this one.

I saw it on an IMAX screen in 3D yesterday and I was not dissapointed. The 3D is subtle and at times you forget!

I loved the concept of the Na'vi and their relationship to the environment. Even though it was a long film, the pace was good throughout. Can't say much more without giving parts of the plot away!

Can't wait to see it with my techno-teen son.

Nadine,
I'm planning to see it on 12/21 or 12/22. I'm taking my 10 year old.
I'll let you know.

Did anyone see the new Cameron movie "Avatar" yet? What do you think about the "imagery", and "positive suggestions"?
Looking forward to sharing impressions...

Cool group! I'm big on movies, although the ones I watch are more and more not on the "just released" list but older films and foreign films. But I like some of the blockbusters too, I'll see if I can add some reviews here a little later on :)
