Interesting use of hypnosis to help a clearly disturbed client. I didn't really get a solid handle on this movie when it first came out. I enjoyed it well enough, but it wasn't until my later exposure to the published material of (deleted so as not to spoil the plot) that I better understood where it was coming from.

I know the man who wrote the Hypnotic patter for that film. From what he said, they recorded what he said while Hypnotizing, and then they wrote a script around his words, including his induction. He's a Psychiatrist from the LA area.
I hypnotized him as I had him in my stage show at a Hypnosis Conference. He now thinks my red pen is very funny, although he thought it might not be preshow.
That film actualy took the time to get the Hypnosis methods right. I have the film on DVD.
What the Hypnotized character, "Prot" (Kevin Spacey) said, well, that was the movie.
Yes, I found the hypnosis sequences too authentic to be written by anyone other than a real hypnotist.
