I am looking to add hypnosis for weight loss to my practice. I currently do smoking cessation work almost exclusively and feel very comfortable doing it. I’m looking for a fairly comprehensive weight loss program that is available through home study training.  I’m presently looking at ones by Rick Boyes, Susie Kappas of HMI, and Tom Nicoli. Does anyone have any other recommendations or comments regarding any of these three?

I do have a program in place but am always interested in hearing suggestions.
I have Susie Kappas' program, and it is pretty good. Her program offers eight sessions that cover a pretty good range of what weight loss clients go through. It's broken down nicely, guiding you in what questions to ask your client each session, what new things to introduce with each session, and a suggested script for each session. However, I have also added to it because I believe she left a few important things out. One thing I always like to do with people with any physical issues is go for root cause...I didn't really feel that her program got there as directly as I would have liked. So, I adapted a script to help the client explore the reason for the symptom of the excess weight. In addition, I often do additional work with resistance, secondary gain, and homework to help them out with habit replacement. It goes something like this...."Whenever I am (angry, sad, stressed, etc...), I will__________." You can find suggestions for this in an excellent book called Hypnosis for Change. I also give them anchors to positive emotions to help them out. It's a work in progress, and I'm constantly adding and revising it. Hope this gives you a few good suggestions. :)
Hi Kathleen:
Thank you for your informative response. I, too, use parts of Susie Kappas' program and integrate it with other methods. I do quite a bit of weight loss work and yes, mine is also a continual work in progress. I also use the Hypnoband (www.hypnoband.com) program with some of my clients and have been very happy with it. I might have to check out Hypnosis for Change. I do alot of reading and am always looking for new ideas. Thanks for your suggestions.
Here is a link to Dr. Bruce Koloski's program. Used successfully for many years in his Los angeles clinics.

Here is a description:

In this comprehensive, remarkably detailed, one-of-a-kind training program you will be given the tools to add an exciting and lucrative dimension to your existing practice or start a new practice specializing in Weight Loss services.
Thanks for the suggestion. I'll check it out. BTW, I purchased your hypnotherapy training course a few years ago and thought it was a wonderful piece of work. The content, that is...not necessarily the video production (only kidding). Seriously, your products are great and I hear nothing but good things about you. Keep up the great work.

Hi Bill try (Jeffrey Stephens Weekend Workshop) Great one shot system hope this helps buddy Tye

I just did a seminar from premier summits with Tom.  It was great, and if he does another I would strongly suggest attending/

He had about 16 speakers, and best of all it was free, and was one hour a day.  I have known him through NGH for 6 years, and he inspires me.  Belinda Rhodes
