Hello all,

Just joined your group. I am a hynotherapist in Venice, FL, with a 12-year practice in S. Florida; trained by Monica Geers in Key West and Dr. Horton here in Venice.

Love NLP and want to continue to combine it with regular hypnosis materials. Let me know if I can be of any assistance to anyone in my area; look forward to being enlightened by your thoughts and work.

Hi Al. I am intrigued. Can you share more details?

I have found swish to be quite useful for installing options into a strategy that otherwise does not tend to exit with the client getting the result they want. For example, I used a swish with a lady who picked her toes unconsciously. This was swished to unconsciously massaging her toes.

When have you gotten 'satisfactory' results and when have you gotten 'crap'? ;-)

Be well,
-Lane

Lane, I find the swish as it is 'traditionally' taught to give results varying from anything from utter crap to satisfactory. In recent times I've used the concept but applied it conversationally, as opposed to 'ok let's do something here' and make it a formal technique. Just my penneth!

Best,
Al

Tomorrow night (11/19/10), I will be teaching swish patterns for my group in Denton, TX. I am curious... for those of you that use the swish, what kind of things do you find you are getting good results with this technique?

Gill Boyne said, "Hypnosis is a state of mind, not a state of eyelids." I'd say the same thing for trance.

I have a close friend who experienced quite a traumatic youth. He remembers around age 2 making a very conscious decision to 'cross wire' his representational systems to remeber things accurately. Of course, he didn't have the vocabulary to describe it as I just did. He purposely mixes colour, sound, smell, taste and feel to produce profound mnemonic feats! An interesting person to model, as he can remember almost everything he reads, can visually estimate distance to within inches over a 20 foot span, and has perfect pitch. He is also somewhat challenged in relationships, which he codes in a similiar fashion, which slows down his 'intuitive' relationship ability. He has also sacrificed a lot of other things in order to maintain his sense of order. Completely fascinating to study! A great and loyal friend also!!!

During the past year I viewed a TV program where several individuals were brought together from around the world to share their experiences with one another, it was quite amazing. I wish I could recall the name of the program.. but it was in the UK. Here is a link to the UK Synaesthesia Association: http://www.uksynaesthesia.com/ Good information with in web site.
