Visiting family member in assisted living. She is at end stage of condition. Hospice pallitive care. Morphne has been titered up but still pain. Although in her 90's she is mentally good. But now because of the falling sats, morphine, and the incredible weakness she is mostly asleep. It would be great to reduce the pain so she would not need so much morphine and maybe breath easier

Has anyone work with the final stage of hospice patents.

I have worked with a pretty large number of end stage patients from the Palliative Care Unit at UAB Hospital and they have all transitioned much more comfortably than they would have if they had only depended on meds.  Contact me at tranceworkers@yahoo.com and I'll try to help you help her.
Thank you.
Tuesday we plan to travel to her assisted living facility the next state over. I have not been able to start visiting sooner since I shattered my ankle 8 weeks ago. Can't wait to once again be able to drive myself, where I want, when I want.

My recent events have not allowed me to be involved. My husband's dear aunt is now at the very end. Sats are spiraling down. Great difficulty breathing. They never did confirm what the lung xray shadows Were. Biopsy at age 96 was seen as adding to her medicals costs, traumatzing the body and nothing more. So, Quite sound of mind she chose to discontinue treatment and opt for pallative hospice care. There is extreme pain with movement when very kind CNAs turn her leads one to wonder if there may also now be bone mets.

She is difficult to rouse most probably because of the morphine dosing now needed and her body is shutting down.

Knowing that I have her attention is one problem that I am anticipating. I am thinking I might use subtle ideomotor signaling so as to not tax her O2 reserves.
A devout Christian she may not like to participate in "hypnosis" and we have never discussed it before so I do not intend to label it so. But rather can I help her with a relaxation imagery technique that I learned about in nursing school (which is true)
I sent info to tranceworkers but I miss keyed it I tried to resend by forwarding I hpoe it arrived. Doing internet and emails by cell is not totally satisfactory, keyboarding on it sometimes a bad hit and miss. If you are sening material I can take PDF BUT I. AM NOT SURE ABOUT Mp3 making it.
