Hi Terry,

Thank you for sharing a case history. I've used parts therapy more than once over the years with clients addicted to sugar, and with many clients addicted to tobacco.

A girl comes into my office and says she is addicted to sugar. Under hypnosis I ask the part of her that loves the sugar to come forward. Her face changes and she becomes like a little kid in a candy store, and she starts going on about how she loves candy and sugar.
I then brought forward another part that was more conservative and concerned with health, and had them work out the issue so that both can be forfilled in their personal assignments. This seemed to work out fine and the cleint was happy with the session feeling more in control of what she considered an addiction. I feel this type of work could be helpful in any kind of addiction.
