I started a discussion on the main forum and feel it should be here instead, so have started another! Id like to keep a sort of diary about each session.

My first regression session was about 3 weeks ago and was truly a life changing experience for me. I found I was a pilot in a past life and then had the most magical spiritual experience. This has given both a faith in knowing what will happen to me when I die and also a new belief in past lives and different energies.

My second session was today. My reason for being regressed in the first place was my feeling that I had been on the Titanic...this has been something that has been with me for many many years. I have always had a connection with the sea. I told my hypnotist before our session today....and he said we may explore this on our session today...well we did and I found out that yes I was on that ship, however I didnt die there, I survived. I was able to recall my name etc....I then went on to get married a few years later. At the end of the session I felt the most amazing energy surge....completely taking hold of my whole body.

After my second session im left feeling that I have a fantastic connection/relationship with my hypnotist. I feel we will do lots more work together and that he will be my pillar of strength as I walk the path to becoming a hypnotist myself.

The question I seem to be asking myself today is....is it normal practice for your clients to become obsessed the way I have?? Are there any hypnotists on here who have similar clients??

First off ... let me congratulate you on your journey of self discovery ... this is great.

It is normal for there to be a connection between the hypnotist and the client ... this is rapport or the bond of trust that forms in any relationship. I am puzzeled by your description of this as being obsessed, however.

There should not be a feeling of "need" or "clingyness"; and if there is a sexual attraction by either one of you, this is definitely something that needs to be kept in check.
Hi Dennis

Maybe obsessed was the wrong word to choose.....obsessed for me....the wanting to go back for more even though ive only had a session today. Its like im on a count down to the next session already. Apart from the session we talked about lots of other things, books I could be reading etc. Its like I cant get enough of the whole thing.

The connection i have with him is in no way sexual at all, so that isnt an issue. Its purely a trust/energy connection. I truly dont feel 'needy' or clingy towards him...its more towards the hypnosis and the journey that fascinates me. Hope this clarifies some points.
I stand corrected Sonia ...

What you are experiencing is very normal ...

As I, you have become a "hypno-junkie" ... addicted to the wonderful world of hypnosis and everything hypnosis has to offer ...

Enjoy the ride!!

thanks Dennis...im hoping the rest of my journey will be just as fascinating :-)
Very interesting Sonia
I have known people to become " Addictied " to the feeling ,and even "Addicted" the Cathartic Release that can happen in Regression Hypnotherapy ....I dont encourage it in my clients, but can see how within a PLR this could acceptable ...almost like a relaxing mind massage :-)
Moderation in all things is my motto ...even Hypnosis
Hi Sonia,

I love to read about past life regression experiences, and I want to thank you for that.

I am especially amazed by the fact that your intuition has dragged you in the past to the Titanic, and now you understand why.

I would also like to know to what extent has past life regression clients experienced that hunch about a former life that they later discovered in session, should anyone want to share.

Thank you.
Congratulations your experience is great you feel now the flow of energy you do, I hazard to suggest is available only through hypnosis/mediation. Had you considered to make this feeling even more profound researching photographs of the Titanic, and perhaps the passenger manifest?

If I imagine the sensations you feel correctly the obsession maybe more aptly described as your mind/body taking on a cathartic focus the weight of living now lifted?
Hi hYpnoTiki

Thanks for your reply, I too like to read about others experiences...thats why I thought id start a post and will then be able to see how it progresses. I too would be very interested to hear other stories of people who have had an insight to their past life.....then gone on to find out more through hypnosis. Its very interesting stuff.

Hi Keithanthony

Thanks you too for your reply. Yes I do intend to delve further into finding out more about the Titanic. One thing my hypnotist did mention is that he has regressed people before who have tended to recall the film, however during my regression and he says probably in reality everything went completely black very quickly. I was unable to recall anything inside the boat...except noises...and also once on the lifeboat even with the sky everything was just pitch black. Im tempted now to look for books by survivors to see if they recalled it in the manner I experienced it.

You could well be right about the way im feeling too :-)
Four days into your journey, at 11:40 P.M would have been dark Sonya. You would probably have been in shock from the events, it would seem perhaps surreal, and hard to recal.

I know the feeling that you experienced when the chains of daily stress, ties, and pain, fall away. it is wonderful, hard to describe, perhaps a little like your mind is flying free, weightless, diaphanous? You might try now reviewing the events now in your mind as an uninvolved observer, whether to the right or the to the left that being the right side for more detail now coming through.
Totally normal. My clients split into those wanting to resolve an issue and those who are exploring their consciousness. Some have a problem, some are just plain curious. In my opinion, anyone who comes for a Regression, whether it is a Past Life or Life between Life session, already is searching for something more. It is not unusual for someone to come with a problem such as a fear of crossing long Bridges (a recent case) only to find out that they did indeed experience a related past life trauma. It's often an A HA! moment when they remember. Usually they feel relieved. It does not always resolve the issue but at least you know where to go from there. Your description of having an energy surge is interesting. On an energetic level, I think that is exactly what happens. I'd call it an energetic release but I know what you mean when you say surge. Wonderful that you are sensitive to it. Massage Therapist and Body workers will tell you that repressed emotion is stored in the body. I often recommend that clients have a massage before or after a regression. Most of us have had hundreds of past lives. I think it is only necessary to go back to the ones where you have carried over unfinished business. If it helps you to live in the present moment more effecively then Bravo! But if it becomes an "obsession" like an addiction then I discourage it. When that happens I suggest we move on to other things. I believe the subconsious mind is a doorway to the Higher Self and Universal Consciousness. It is one way to connect with this reservoir of unlimited potential, life-energy and knowledge. I'd much rather have my clients working on that than peeling back the layers of lives for no particular reason. I could go on and on about this. If you are studying the subject you may want to check out Michael Newton and Linda Backman's books. Dolores Cannon has documented many PLR sessions and woven them into interesting books as well. Good luck to you.
Hi Victoria

Thanks for your post. I agree there is no point in just being regressed to go through past life after past life. Im fortunate in that my hypnotist recognises this and has said that we can work together in other areas. Our next session is going to be a soul journey. Im not intending to have session after session, more a case of obtaining more knowledge through actual experience.

I have started already one of Michael Newton's books, im also reading one by Dr Brian Weiss and DMT a Spirit Molecule...so lots to be going on with for now. I will certainly be looking for the books by Dolores Cannon...so thank you for the recommendations :-) x
Hi Sonia,
Wonderful! I did the same thing. There is nothing like first hand experience. Not cheap but well worth the investment. When I first started I went to the best Regressionists I could find for personal sessions. If they no longer did them I enrolled in their workshops. Brain Weiss does a great one at the Omega Institute in upstate New York http://www.eomega.org/omega/faculty/viewProfile/a5da77252cc7db5f4ec... and Linda Backman's ( she worked with Michael Newton ) PLR and LBLworkshops in Colorado are great http://www.ravenheartcenter.com/. I would love to do one with Dolores Cannon. She is around 80 years old now so I may go to the one in San Diego in April. Hard to say how much longer she will do these. http://www.ozarkmt.com/hypnosis.HTM.

That DMT book is really interesting. So is the one by Candice Pert Molecules of Emotion. You might like Bruce Goldberg's books. He doesn't have the academic qualifiations the others have but he does good research. And he has been a succesfull hypnotist for 30 years. He wrote Past Lives, Future Lives in the 70's and has a new one called "Exploring the 5th Dimension" that is worth a read.
Enjoy the journey....lots of fun!
