the Free Hypnosis Social Network
Hi everyone :-)
We just finished a wonderful week of learning and personal healing at our
Regression Boot Camp, and I want to share the most valuable aspect of the work
we all did there.
You may have already read my personal account of how I healed so many things in
my life via regression, releasing and healing work, and I do not want to bore
anyone with client reports, but I do feel that you may benefit from
understanding more of the deeper and broader concepts and methods we use, that
have evolved after thousands of sessions and countless client successes. But…
the most “convincing aspect” of our work is our own personal growth, tangible
personal healing and sense of peace. We work on and with ourselves, not just on
clients.
I just received a nice thank you email from an Olympic athlete who you may
already have read about, I think I posted it here, I'll check later, and the
main focus of her gratitude is how the sessions she experienced with me healed
her life, not just allowed her to get a medal at the Olympics. My heart
filled with love and gratitude as I read her letter because SHE GETS IT.
Those things in the past that are not resolved are being carried into our NOW,
our current life, and affecting our consciousness, our relationships and our
performance, just as much and the positive things of our past are helping us in
our current life, NOW.
In other words, this Elite athlete understands that to excel in her event and
get her medal, her heart needed to be healed first. And now looking back
she comprehends the Holistic value and investment of doing the work. She
told me that she had worked with a prominent sports psychologist but she did
not FEEL it take hold inside, in her feelings. I work with Feelings
First, Thoughts Second, and her feelings took her back to events in her life
that she thought were insignificant, but her subconscious mind felt were very
significant. After her SM took us to those places, and she released the
negative feelings in those events, which by the way took her much further back
in her life than she anticipated, THEN we worked on moving forward with mental
rehearsal, future pacing, etc. Even in the future pacing there were
more negative and inhibiting feelings to be released, so that the future pacing
STUCK TO HER RIBS :-)
At Regression Boot Camp I tell the attendees, "you'll be learning a lot
about the concepts and methods of successful, healing regression work, but
you'll learn more about yourself than anything else." I was so
grateful that at the conclusion of the first four days and at the conclusion of
the 6 day experience, that is exactly what many of them told us.
To do true regression healing work, you must know the territory, you must first
know the trail, or you cannot be a true guide. The old saying "you
must be on higher ground first, before you try to lift someone else up,"
is as true as it gets. A professional guide may not know a specific trail
you want to blaze, but the guide knows how to succeed in blazing trails.
One aspect of regression work that Matt Sison and I have adopted at our core is
the jugular importance of releasing the negative feelings in the regressed-to
events, and letting the age of the regressed person do the work - not the
adult. In fact, when we adopted this one practice (years ago), client
success skyrocketed and was happening consistently.
Just to “put it out there,” Matt Sison and Randy Shaw declare: In order for a true
regression hypnotherapist to help others to their full healing potential, she/he must
first experience personal success of some meaningful kind. This was evident in
Boot Camp where one of the demo's turned into intense feelings and one of the students
had to bolt out of the condo, being overwhelmed with resonating feelings – from
her own, unresolved past. I followed her and did round after round of
releasing until her body released the feelings as the SM respected our work, and
opened up the door for releasing. In the beginning each releasing
intensified the pain, but she and I knew one thing: The more it comes up, the
more can be released out of the body. The body must be allowed to get as uncomfortable
as it needs to, to express and finally release the stored and trapped emotional
energy. Once the body feels better, the mind feels better and works better,
calmer, wiser.
Matt and I often warn, in whispers, that just revisiting past events does not
mean those events are healed. I have had numerous events I had conscious
memories of, but not until I let my feelings come to the surface did I realize
that those memories carried powerful feeling energy in my body, and ironically,
were crying out to me over the years to be released. I’ve had numerous clients tell me that ‘this
or that’ doesn’t bother them, or they covered that in psychotherapy, only to
find out that it’s not true once the critical faculty is bypassed. If the truest feelings are not respected,
expressed and released, the events can bother the person forever, because the
perceptions in the SM have not changed.
To change a perception in the SM, we've found that releasing the feeling allows
the SM to let go, feel safe and finally see the truth, and then we can slip in
positive suggestions, and even more wonderful is the amazing insight and self
declarations the client is able to experience.
I've never seen hypnotists utilize the conscious mind as much as we do in our
processes - not the limitations of the thinking mind, but the awareness
aspect. If the client is not aware, how can they learn from past events
which after releasing, are now ready to be influenced in positive and loving
directions?
I've let go of so many of the structured methods of hypnotism and moved into
the flow of what I'd call the inherent human hypnotic potential.
Success and sessions have become easier and more effective once I've come to
understand the inherent capacity of the human mind to use it, as people unknowingly
use it or be used BY IT every day of their lives.
I was fortunate enough to understand the more difficult the instructors made
hypnosis, the less they truly understood it. The more I was told to push
and be pragmatic, the more I felt there had to be a better way. There is
;-) By working with the feelings first, the hypnosis has an increased effect.
Thank you for reading this post. My hope is that you find yourself, so you can help others find theirselves,
Randy

Randy,
I use regression in most of my consultations because I firmly believe that before you can heal you have to identify the underlying causes. Many of my recent patients have suffered abuse of various kinds in their early years and suffer from very low self esteem. By identifying the root causes through regression it is relatively easy to remove these blocks. In several cases in the last few months patients have given up drinking just as a result of improveing their self esteem. I also use Past Life Regression as a very effective tool. One recent case was of a young man who had an absolute phobia of pens and ink. Through PLR we identified that he had been a monk in the middle ages and was being punished for some wrongdoing. His punishment was being locked in his cell 24/7 and being forced to copy the illuminated manuscripts of the day. Having identified this we were then able to look at it from a modern day viewpoint and he was able to remove the feeling of dread. He is now gradually getting used to writing with pens and has improved his work prospects dramatically.
