When I do a progressive regression, I like to make use of muscle relaxation suggestion as an induction (a personal preference, I'm sure many other inductions can work just as successfully).

When I did a recent induction, I had an image of a Shaman dancing and singing and clapping hands while I was doing the induction (just a visual in my head).

I know that many people use CD's with relaxing music in the background during the induction very successfully.

However - I had another thought that was somehow related to this Shaman image... although I haven't quite figured out the relationship yet.

Has anybody tried the use of sound therapy, and more specifically tuning forks while doing an induction?

Obviously one would have to set this up with client beforehand and introduce the tuning forks, but I wonder if that could work?

I have a full set of tuning forks that I sometimes use during Reiki healings, and am thinking now of how to incorporate that with the hypno sessions..

I would appreciate your feedback.

Thanks, Mandi

Hi Mandi
I cant see why it wouldn't work
I think that inductions are very over rated ...to me they are just a ritual
I rarely use one these days ...preferring for the client to focus in on the issue and asking them
how it feels physically in their body .....as soon as they turn their awareness inward they are in trance
and the more focused they are on their internal experience the deeper they go

I think that any induction that gets the client to focus on their internal experience will be effective

Hi Craig

Yes - that has been my experience as well, that as soon as they are engaged with the process and talking about their own experiences and with their own awareness turned inward, is what takes them really deep.

This would be more about adding an additional level of healing to the process, similar with what can be done by imagining the golden ball of love from the heart chakra, rather than a deepener.

It may however double-up as a deepener depending on how and when it's used. I'll ask some clients who are willing to 'experiment' with this and report back :)

Tx for the feedback

Cheers Mandi

I look forward to the feedback :-)
I have seen Rick Collingwood use a type of Theata sound during his whole session ( i think he has used it on his CDs as well ) so if it works for him I am sure the tuning forks will work for you ....we all have our unique styles and thats what makes this so interesting
