Sometimes it seems like we do as much de-hypnotizing as hypnotizing. This thread is for discussions of how to free ourselves (and our clients) from society's detrimental influence on our health and bodies. How do we cope with a society that pushes fast food at us while telling us we should be shaped like runway models?

I think education is the best approach. Once you learn what is really in the food that you consume, it becomes more difficult to put the processed stuff down your throat. Morgan Spurlock's Super Size Me http://www.hulu.com/watch/63283/super-size-me did such damage to McCrappy's image that they pulled their Super-Sized Fries from the menu.

We need to realize that the food industry pretty much cares only about one thing: the bottom line, not our spreading bottoms.

So how do we turn off those messages without isolating ourselves? Perhaps the answer is more about turning our attention to the healthy options. Hypnotic suggestions for craving nutricious and delicious food should be prominent in our minds.
Hypnotic suggestions for planning ahead can help with the fast-food issue also. If we don't plan ahead, we end up tired, hungry, and often alone as we drive past that burger joint late at night. And that's when it's toughest to make a good decision.

I worked with a client who was a fast-food junkie. She and I agreed that suggestions for loving to go grocery shopping and cook healthy meals for her family were just as important as suggestions about passing up fast food--more important really.
