the Free Hypnosis Social Network

This discussion thread is for comments and debate on the issue of how we talk about size and weight--as hypnotists and as a society.

For example, the word "loser" has come to be used to refer to people who shed weight. Consciously, we know what we mean, but I'm not happy with the message it sends to the unconscious: that even if you stop being fat, you'll still be "a big loser."

Likewise some object to the term "lose weight" on the grounds that when you lose something, you usually work to find it again.

So, what are your feelings on the language of weight loss? (Or is it weight control, weight management, size adjusment, reduction . . . ?) This is the forum to make your case and share your insights!
