James, you are awesome! You even inspired me to let go of 2 lbs of unwanted flub this week! I also acknowledge and thank Roger Moore, Michael Ellner and Fable Goodman as contributors to my movement forward.

I released 1.4 pounds this week. :-) I'm proud of me.

Even better, I'm really proud of one of the people who attended my portion control workshop before Thanksgiving. She's released 7.6 pounds since the workshop!

Nice job on the rowing machine, James! Perhaps the recording helped with time distortion...I once did that on a treadmill and became aware when I was hurled off of the darned thing, landing in a heap behind it. Note to self: use hypnosis appropriately when exercising.

Kelley--no need to apologize.

I think the decision to use or not use aversion has to be a personal one. I never use it with a client unless we've discussed it first, because if the client doesn't want it, he or she will fight the suggestions, which then weakens all of the non-aversion suggestions as well.

For myself, I find that 80% carrot and 20% stick works well.

I did 20 minutes on my rowing machine yesterday. In the past, I've struggled to hit 10 minutes. The difference? Instead of watching the clock, I closed my eyes and listened to my virtual workout recording. I was quite surprised when I got to the cool-down part of the recording.

Just wanted to share the great news from my diabetic client who reports that the day after Turkey Day blood sugar reading was under 200! (Normally it would be near 400). Hypnosis strategies work!! Yay!

I have an aversion toward aversion therapy myself. I once listened to a recording that mentioned finding a long hair in my food and found myself gagging for days. Sorry guys, lol!

Aversion therapy isn't my first line of defense, Hugh. I use it to supplement my pleasure-based approach. :-)

Hello Ian, You said, I don't judge, I question, but to me it looks more like an attack... I understand why you question Dr Hunter PH.D professionalism, because he continues to retain a link on his website to the website of Dr Royle PH.D. And, In yo…

Research in hypnosis is a waste of time. At best all it shows is the intent and skill of the hypnotist conducting the research or the ability of the person being hypnotised to actually be hypnotised. Being as neither of these is a constant how coul…
