Justin's Tip....

Chair Safety.

Always use chairs that have no arms on stage. When a chair has arms the volunteers ribs  can end up resting heavily into one side or the other. This can cause severe discomfort to your volunteers and work against you in a show setting.

Play Safe,

Justin's Tip.....

The Arm pull induction is used frequently to re-induce trance with Stage show volunteers it is also used as an induction.. Although it is classified as a shock induction it does not mean that you need to SHOCK the volunteer yanking hard on someones arm is not needed and can cause injury.

Work on your arm pulls and practice using light tugs and just prior to tugging ask the volunteer to look a different direction, introduce some confusion and then do the arm pull being very careful with the force you apply in the arm pull.

Play Safe,

Justin's Tip...

Always walk your stage area  make sure that your floor is even and there are no gaps or holes in the stage and that there are no obstructions for people to trip over.

Stairs should always be tested to see if they are stable and marked with Yellow gaff tape if possible..

When doing an arm pull induction, sweep the arm across the body and tug lightly, no actual force is needed the motion in of itself offers sufficient surprise also it allows you to control direction.

A common mistake that many make is thinking that you need to yank hard when doing a shock induction such as this. Doing so can injure a volunteer so if you are doing rapid inductions or using this as a re-induction take heed. Have some fun with it do it in slow motion or find other ways to make it entertaining and a part of your show.
