Thank you very much Anthony! This is very helpful for me! I am gonna definitely test your suggestions!

And yes! YOU HAVE A NICE WEBSITE TOO!

Have a nice day!
That's a great response from Anthony that would repay repeated readings.

I'm not sure why some folks think that Amnesia has no therapeutic benefit. However, a very natural way to encourage it is to book-end your hypnosis. E.g.:

"Can you remember the school uniform you had to wear at your first school?"
HYPNOSIS / TRANCE
"And what colour was the tie?"

That's a lousy example, but you get the idea. You can also do that with layering during the hypnosis itself.

Of course, with both examples you can seed it numerous times throughout the session. E.g. if you are talking about exceptions to their problem, you briefly note how easy it is to forget those times that have been helpful, when we're focused on the problem. And I guess it only makes sense that it's just as easy to forget those problem times when we now have a new focus on the solution.

Talk about forgetting things in the past, then begin to speak of the problem as a thing of the past...

Etc. Etc. Etc.

Hope that helps some.
Thanks for all of your valuable ideas!
Interesting thread! This "Remember to forget" is a nice doublebind.
And concerning M.E.s trance, there often was nothing that could be considered to be a blunt suggestion, - so nobody could forget anyway.
I also dont think, that the client has to remember suggestions in order to benefit from them.
This is the dichotomy of human nature, - the patient comes to the doctor with a desease that a part of him creates and claims to be not responsible, - has he forgotten, or only "forgotten to remember".
Nice ...
When returning a client from hypnosis, I also make the suggestion that they awaken "remembering everything that is important to remember from this session, and forgetting anything that is not important for you to deal with at this time"
