This is an excellent document for all types of counseling work with transgender and gender variant clients. ALGBTIC Competencies for Counseling Transgender Clients. ALGBTIC is a sub-division of the American Counseling Association. They also have a page with competencies for LGBQ clients.
Another extremely valuable resource is the Center of Excellence for Transgender Health, at UCSF - they have a webpage called the Transgender Health Learning Center. Many good links to documents. Hypnotists can learn from all of these.
