ALGBTIC Competencies for Counseling Transgender Clients. ALGBTIC is a sub-division of the American Counseling Association. They also have a page with competencies for LGBQ clients.

Another extremely valuable resource is the Center of Excellence for Transgender Health, at UCSF - they have a webpage called the Transgender Health Learning Center. Many good links to documents. Hypnotists can learn from all of these.

I have a special interest in this area of hypnosis practise as I feel many sexual issues may be easily resolved via hypnosis, but many hypnotists may not be comfortable in this area. I spent years working as a RN working as a labour and delivery nurse and volunteering where I taught sex-ed to school kids. I hope that discussion on this forum will serve to educate all of us on how to work more effectively with our clients regarding sexual issues ranging from erectile dysfunction, low libido, sexual responsiveness, and orgasmic difficulties, to issues of sexual identity and paraphilia.
