Hi all,
I am a C. Ht based in Bangkok, Thailand. I often come across individuals that wants help with something in regards of performing better in races and competitions, I have focused on the details a few times with various results (not always 100% successful) and I have also realized later that most of these cases are afraid of failure and that is really the main issue.

Does anyone have some input on this, what would your approach be to get over the fear of failure? and to get the person to focus on the race and the abilities of the individual in the race situation.

Best regards

Fredrik

Over 40 years now I have been training Olympic and World championship athletes, strength and motivation including hypnosis. At one stage I had 11 World Champions Hypnotherapy help not only overcome fear but to perform at 120% effort by taking away the restrictions of judgmental critical brain...Art Long CHt
Thank you very much for your reply. I feel that I remove the restrictions of the judgmental critical brain every time I put my clients into trance - then I wonder if the trick is to get them to relax into a light trance when it is time for the race?

Or would you suggest that I work on their fear of failure while the critical judgemental brain is "switched off"?

Fear of failure can easily be overcome by the thought of "I can" rather than that of teh judgmental brain saying "I can't" once the thought of success is in the subconscious a person does not doubt their abilities as the argument occurs with the brain that everything they need do can be done, I have been using this for 40 years now and have had uncountable World Champions as a result.
Strengthen the thoughts/feelings associated with the success.
Build in a reward system that suits your client. (move toward for athletes)
Thanks Lightsleeper, but I don't fully understand what you mean by "Move towards".

Generally Fredrik, I have found that, elite athletes tend to have more of a ..." move toward a positive end result" motivational strategy.
