the Free Hypnosis Social Network
I'd love to hear input from experienced sports hypnotists on which type of athlete - i.e. sport - is the most popular for hypnosis? In other words, what type of athlete most commonly seeks your services...triathletes, boxers, runners, cyclists, football players, etc.
I apprecate your input!

Permalink Reply by Joe Homs on June 13, 2011 at 5:06pm I see all kinds. I just had a 13 year old tennis player come in for anxiety/confidence during her games. I see golfers regularly for all sorts of issues with their games. I'm getting into the runner/marathoner scene a bit more in my area too. Mainly breaking through "the wall" and pain management clients there. I have heard Richard Nongard mention he loves shooting and works with shooters too. A few shooters come to me every once in a while to learn how to shoot "one hole groups" with pistols.
My point is that each sport has its own unique challenges. Just ask anybody playing any sport what their problems are and they will tell you. Beyond the basics of every sport and a person's physical abilities, the rest of their problems are mental.
Since I like having data to back me up, here's a few google searches and the number of results they return, which should give you a pretty accurate estimate of the "popularity" of hypnosis and associated sports.
"sports hypnosis" +golf = About 54,000 results
"sports hypnosis" +tennis = About 35,500 results
"sports hypnosis" +baseball = About 34,100 results
"sports hypnosis" +basketball = About 21,700 results
"sports hypnosis" +soccer = About 18,800 results
"sports hypnosis" +football = About 13,300 results
"sports hypnosis" +cycling = About 10,700 results
"sports hypnosis" +bowling = About 9,530 results
"sports hypnosis" +MMA = About 9,210 results
"sports hypnosis" +triathlon = About 6,490 results
