I'm looking for some info/guidance on getting quality CDs recorded and packaged for selling. I have been doing more "home-made" style--recording an MP3 and burning a CD on a client-by-client basis,…Continue

Does anyone know of any transcription/dictation software that can take an mp3 file as an input.

Usually I know what sort of thing I'm going to say during a session but can remember afterwards exectly what I did say, so I'd like to use the recording of the session to create a text transcript that I can store in the client file.

I believe Dragon can do it, but has anyone actually tried it and can recommend anything?

Cheers

Burn as an Audio CD. You should get 74 mins of audio on a standard CD of 800mb. You need to understand the difference between file size and time. You can create a high quality 74 min Audio Cd but the file size cannot exceed the capacity of the disc. Audio CD's are uncompressed unlike MP3's. Most good burning software will take MP3's and burn Audio discs and will show you how much space the files are taking up before you burn to disc.

Great, thanks Ronan. I think that's it. I'm compressing them into mp3's and will try burning them onto disk again. Much appreciated, thx for taking the time to help me.

Are you saving files as MP3s? If you are saving as wav they are a lot larger, especially if they are long files.

Hey everyone!

You know, people have different geniuses, don't they? Mine is definitely NOT in the cyber-realm, so I thought I'd look for a group to help me as I'm getting going on creating information products to sell, smoke-ending cd's, etc.

I have a MacBook Pro and use Garageband software to record tracks. I'm all edited and ready to boogie, but as I go to burn the tracks onto a cd, I can only get one or poss two short tracks onto a burnable cd. Why can one get so much music onto a cd, for instance, but not spoken word hypno?? Is there some way to compact the tracks or something that I haven't discovered?

thanks for any help you can offer, and please ask your own questions, too. Hopefully some people who rock at this kind of techno stuff will join and avail us of their expertise!
