I'm looking for some info/guidance on getting quality CDs recorded and packaged for selling. I have been doing more "home-made" style--recording an MP3 and burning a CD on a client-by-client basis, but want to have some pre-made to sell at events, etc.

I am looking for suggestions for ways to record/transfer/burn/package nice sounding and nice looking general CDs.

I use a Mac and know that some of these programs are PC only.

Thanks for any tips/ideas.

Hi Samuel,

It sounds like you want to continue to produce cd's yourself, but just up the quality, is that right? When I read "quality" in your post, I think of production values. I am not familiar with specific programs but know that there are, for instance, special attachments to printers so that you can print a graphic right onto a cd itself, and of course others for printing a graphics jacket to go inside the cd case.

For me, I am not interested in being a professional cd maker, so I am exploring pro shops where I deliver the graphics and the recorded tracks and they put it together for me into a nice, finished and professional looking package. I would personally prefer to pay someone else who has the know-how and equipment and press several hundred or whatever cd's at a time, rather than dealing with learning it and cranking them out one by one. There are lots of ways to go and I hope you find some good software that helps you do it your own right way.

Anyone else on this list have ideas for Samuel?

thanks,

Heron
Here's a company that was recommended in a discussion last year: http://www.kunaki.com/ I haven't used it myself, might someday!
Thanks Kelley:

I've checked out kunaki before--for some reason they only work with things produced or uploaded from a PC, not a Mac. And I have a Mac.

Heron: Yes, I'm looking for something similar to what you mention, I don't want to crank them out one at a time. I do that for my individualized recordings, but I want to make some general ones to sell.

Thanks for your ideas,
Samuel
