FYI- I have been promoting considering homeopathy as possible path to rebuilding ones health for decades -- Kinda of nice that Prof. Luc Montagnier made the discovery -- Luc and I have history... FYI I met Prof. Luc Montagnier in 1991, when my AIDS organization hosted a Symposium examining the role of Mycoplasmas in AIDS that featured Prof. Luc Montagnier and his associate Dr Shyh-Ching Lo, senior researcher at the Armed Forces Institute of Pathlogy in NYC. I saw him  again when we were speakers at a 1992 International AIDS conference in Amsterdam.

Here's the news item:

Nobel scientist discovers scientific basis of homeopathy

In the week that doctors have described homeopathy as ‘nonsense on stilts’, a Nobel prize-winning scientist has made a discovery about the nature of water that suggests the therapy does have a scientific basis. Professor Luc Montagnier, a French virologist who won the Nobel prize for discovering a link between HIV and AIDS, has shocked fellow Nobel prize-winners by telling them that water has a memory that continues even after many dilutions. The idea is one of the foundations of homeopathy, which maintains that the potency of a substance is increased with its dilution. Montagnier has discovered that solutions containing the DNA of viruses and bacteria “could emit low frequency radio waves”. These waves influence molecules around them, and turn them into organised structures. These molecules in turn can emit waves. He has discovered that the waves remain in the water, even after it has been diluted many times. Montagnier’s statement couldn’t happen at a worse time for doctors. Last week, the UK’s British Medical Association (BMA) – the trade union of doctors – passed a resolution to stop homeopathy being made available on the National Health Service. It also wants all homeopathic remedies to be placed in a special area marked ‘Placebos’ in health shops and pharmacies. The NHS currently spends around £4m a year on homeopathy, mainly by funding four homeopathic hospitals in the UK. (Sources: Sunday Times, July 4, 2010; British Medical Association).

On the placebo.

I don't proclaim to know anything about homeopathy, but have experimented with it occasionally with positive result.
I can tell you this ---- As in hypnotherapy, there is a direct cause/effect relationship wherein what one holds in mind so shall it be unto them.
If this mental 'placebo effect' is what makes a change in the body occur, regardless of healing from surgery, healing by hypnotherapy or healing with the homeopathic method, then has it not done what was set out to be accomplished?
If something WORKS --- has it not been effective?
Silly name calling then...
Thanks Michael
I just used it in an Israeli forum that was in the middle on a war about homeopathy

Hi Michael, I worked with a homeopathic clinic in Cape Town for over 12 years and stand behind homeopathy fully and without reservation, especially (and this might elicit some  response from some!) with children...the "less is more" principal is so profound and so subtle and SO effective, as you know.  Supporting the inherent intelligence and wisdom of our bodies in this non-invasive manner just seems to me to be one of the ways to work in harmony with "nature's collective consciousness"..I have seen, and personally experienced, incredible results and also use the Bach Flower Remedies...let's hope that the BMA sees "the light" AND the Bigger PIcture - the 3-legged stool - these different modalities can all work together for the benefit of the patient and not the benefit of the coffers...there is room for us all, I believe, if we all work from integrity and "do no harm"...it must've been quite something to meet the Prof..I think Dr. Maseru Imoto's research also adds weight to this approach and I often have a client select a positive word before a session (if appropriate) and place that word on a piece of paper under his or her glass of water. Right now, I have "sleep" under mine - it's almost midnight here in HI..thanks for the article, Susie

Fascinating, Michael.  In light of my new learnings about energy medicine (and energy everythings), this makes total sense.  Total sense.  Thanks for posting it.

I had a wonderful chiropractor who used homeopathic mixes of known allergens to desensitize and cure my allergies. He held the vials over my solar plexus and cleared my body using kinesiology. I also frequented a homeopathic practitioner for quite a while. My favorite was having sulfur on hand to stop a cold or the flu dead in its tracks before it took hold of me.
