That is an old saying, however I have found that is serves me and my clients very well. A humorous comment from the therapist allows the client to relax, smile and even laugh which in turn opens up the subconscious to change. Change is why folks come to a Hypnotherapist.
In classes humor helps break the serious faces of my students and once again they relax and become open to the suggestion that indeed they will be able to do this protocal easily and effortlessly.

Hello Anne, I love this post you put up here. I am starting to become familiar with a course of study, reffered to as Joyology. It is offered with a actual certification (not that that gives it anymore valitity).

Just before I looked into this study of joy, and have had the good fortune to have had Maori body work done on me, and I have found that to be amazingly healing.

The reason I bring that up is because I have found the two to be very similar in their appproach, and I just felt obligated to share that here.

~ Thanks
Thursday night I was on a conference call with an energy healer who was emphasizing using a joyful tone when verbalizing your affirmations.

I will have to look up Maori Body Work.
Thanks for the input - never know where ones words will travel!
Carpe Diem,
Dr. Anna
