Hello everyone, I have a question concerning instant inductions.  Lets say your on the street or in a mall. Rapport has already been established.  Is it necessary to explain what is going to happen to the volunteer before the instant induction is performed on them or is it best to just do it? If they know up front what is going to happen, how does that affect the outcome?  I have done these as a re-induction or as a deepener. but have not done it from the start. I have some that just wont go into trance, no matter what. I have watched many of the experts performing this induction, however not much is said on how the subject/volunteer is approached before the instant induction is done.

Thanks, Michael

Some thoughts for consideration ...

What you want to do is put them at ease so that they are non vigilant or anxious. Then do the induction.

So focus on getting yourself to be at complete confident ease of what you are going to be doing well before you "close the distance" and begin close proximity interactions with them. They will react to your display of confident ease , and it makes for a much less telegraphed instant induction.

Or you can simply ease them into conversation and at some point use a simple pointing finger hand movement to non verbally direct their attention to a specific detail that you want them to consciously focus on as you speak to them in a way that enables them to tune into a trance state. Be direct and sepcific , point with a finger , stare / gaze at it , and then talk about it so that both of you go into trance. And then use the shared trance state as a starting point for whatever else you want to do.

You do realise that the reality of fast and insatnt inductions requires that the hypnotist accept the reality and inevitability of the result if the technique is done properly. That reality and inevitability MUST be the in the frame of your interaction with your targets.

And .. yes .. you will get a mixed bag of results , accept that before you begin to explore the ways in which you can interact with people in this way.

Their state of knowing / not knowing is not as important as your ability to put them at ease and use your gestures and voice and words to direct their attention.

Consider ... that there is no such thing as resistance .. only a lack of ability in the hypnotist to use the responses of their subjects in ways that enables trance inductions.

Alternatively .. any response that they dispaly = proof of their current "trance state" and all you need do is interact to direct them into a state that suits your purposes.
