I am curious to know what everybody thinks is in store for the future of hypnotism. The Trance-Master John Cerbone already hinted on his ideas that can be found on the comments section of main page. I also think that speed trance and high impact/high energy interventions are on the horizon but what do you think? I would love to know your thoughts and where you see hypnotism going in the future. There is no right or wrong so just contribute your thoughts and lets get a great discussion going.

Abundance to all,

I believe the future of hypnosis is going to be more interactive education through the internet and mediums such as podcasting, videocast and more. I believe for the first time in history the principals of rapid inductions and instant inductions are becoming more widely used than progressive relaxations. The key is the education of the future generation as eventually we will have to take over the touch.

We need to make sure that there is a form of standlized training made available for the youth and more than that how important things such as credibility, business, marketing and professionlism is to the success of a hypnotist. We can learn all the techniques in the world, but if we can't get clients what the point. I think we will see hypnotism start to become more accepted in the medical world. Now in the near future but down the road. More and more people and events like world hypnotism day are educating people on the truth of hypnosis. We can never look back only move forward.

We must learn that we are a proud and seperate profession, but we must start acting like a profession. Organizations like the guild, this site and others are helping to pave the way. I want to see a point in time where doctors refer people to us for help in certain situations. I think the future will be bright, but for it to be bright we must leave selfness behind and remember that the youth are the next gen. So we should be willing to share our knowledge to those who are serious.

In reality, the future is what we make it so why complain about the future. If its not what we wanted we are the only ones to blame. Making a difference starts Now!!!

Hi John,

Nice site here! Thanks for the invite.

I am more and more coming to believe that with the low nutritional diet most people are accustomed to coupled with more and more toxicity in our air, water, and food, that there will be many more new 'diseases' that the medical establishment has no idea how to cure. People will continue to come to Consulting Hypnotists for relief from an ever increasing myriad of symptoms.

My concern is that hypnosis may provide temporary relief, but the real cause of the problem -- lack of nutrition and over toxicity -- has not changed and therefore the symptoms could often reoccur or worsen. This could result in more and more skepticism about the worth of hypnosis from the general public.

However, I do look forward to the profession of "Consulting Hypnotist" becoming more and more accepted by conventional medicine and will do what I can to help this become reality.

I think that with all the young talent out there, and on this site, there is going to be an uprising with the profession... John Cerbone also mentioned to try out different things see what works... There are so many great minds out there that I think hypnosis is going to warp into a new dimension...

PEACE OUT

John:
Wow, thank you for your kind comments, I just noticed your post.
There quite a lot I imagine as the future of this wonderful profession.

First, let's sweep away some of the mud. Other professions who steadfastly remain and are currently using their versions, often older versions, of hypnosis, still seem to be somewhat threatened by the kind of hypnosis we do it times. So to start with, each of us needs to make sure that we stay separate, unique, and distinctive, diligently working, honestly, ethnically, and fairly, even legally as a profession, as we become more and more respected in just the way Chiropratic did some decades back.

As our profession evolves, it is incumbent upon each of us to share amongst ourselves, inspirations, thoughts, ideas, new techniques. This is why I have published over 150 private sessions, and have been willing to share Speed-Trance techniques. It also occurs to me here, that most of us in our profession are working on deeper levels of trance than in the ways another parallel professions using it. The idea to each of us is to remain free of being mired in one style or modality, would interfere with our professional evelovment and enhancement of our skilsl, techniques, and impact.

Using Speed-Trance technique, it is possible to hypnotize someone in a matter of seconds, sometimes faster, speaking quickly, deliver a series of properly worded, maximum impact suggestions, and bringing the person out of trance quickly, while progress ensues instantly or rapidly.

I've also read elsewhere that in the opinions of some, stage-show entertainment will eventually be a thing of the past. I wholeheartedly and absolutely disagree with this, as I have never in my life imagined the high level of interest people have shown in hypnotic entertainment programs.

Every clinician here goes a debt of gratitude to Hypnotic entertainment. Comedy hypnosis has been around for a good long time, and from my point of view, is not a fad, nor a flash in the pan. Please let each of us remember, that it wasn't for the stage show hypnotism, clinical hypnosis as it exists today would not be. While other professions would have us sweep aside the entertainment aspect of who we are, or while some would feel threatened by hypnotic entertainment for their clinical work, there is in my opinion, and shall forever remain, a place for hypnotic entertainment whether it's a Comedy Stage Show, or Street Hypnosis.

Ssome years back my late friend, Ornond McGill, taught a class on the future of hypnotism. He felt the each of us will be working more closely with doctors and other trained clinicians assisting in the progress of clients/patients to maximize improvement in the lives of individuals.

Doctor Rosen who appears as a consultant on Fox News late Sunday mornings, as well as other medical professionals who appear on television, have many times stated the value of an individual seeking life improvement, finding and utilize in the services of a qualified hypnotist. We're more accepted today than ever before. I do feel that this trend will continue.

It is up to each of us as hypnosis professionals to educate, and step past the shortsighted and silly misconceptions that have existed around our profession for a very perhaps, too long period of time.
Hypnotically,
John
