Oh, I guess I should put mine as well. It turns out I already follow most of you, but it's nice to see some people I didn't know that are on Twitter. Mine is @JoshuaHoughton

Thanks Catherine, Robert, Wendi and the quicknotist himself, Reg

Hey Scott

I'll add the hypnothought Twitter name to the main welcome area for this group. Thanks for letting me know!

Hi everybody, I'm @KathleenHanover on Twitter. I help Scott and Sara (@ModeratorSara) keep tabs on the Twitter accounts. (Fighting spam is a full-time job...geesh!)

I'm glad Scott mentioned the @HypnoThoughts account. Just an FYI, sometime this week the HypnoThoughts account will start tweeting the "Latest Activity" stream. The tweets will look like this:

HypnoThoughts Scott Sandland, C.Ht. replied to Joshua Houghton's discussion 'If Your on Twitter Let Us Know! Add Your Twitter Username' in the group Twitter For Hypnotists #hypnosis #nlp

Why tweet from HypnoThoughts? Two reasons:

1. If you have a Twitter client for your mobile phone, you can stay updated on the latest HypnoThoughts activity without having to sign in or check your email.

2. In case you didn't know, Google indexes individual tweets. Tweeting HypnoThoughts' latest activity generates a lot of keyword-rich content that will make HypnoThoughts more visible in search engines, making the site easier for hypnos to find. Ironically, even though HypnoThoughts is the largest social network for hypnosis, it's not very visible to Google because of the way Ning has coded the site (HT runs on Ning software).

Coincidentally, reason #2 can also work in your favor: your name is being linked with hypnosis-related keywords in Google, which should also help your search engine visibility. That is, if you're using your real name on HypnoThoughts (or at least, the same name you use everywhere else on the Internet.)

Using your full, real name will also benefit you if you're listing yourself in the HypnoThoughts Directory.

That's my marketing 2¢ for the day.

See you on Twitter,
Kathleen

Hi Kathleen,

It's nice to meet you and you should get an award because battling spam is a never ending job, I know! Thanks for posting this information about Twitter and Hypnothoughts. I'll create a thread for the information you just provided so people can clearly find your information. You touched on another topic which just adds to the fuel that Twitter is a powerful tool for Hypnotists.

Kathleen is very correct about Ning. While we all love Ning it does have some drawbacks. Great information and it's good to see so many are posting here.
