Hi Alan,

I must say that I have altered my definition of rapport due to the response I have receive here and elsewhere. Often when I see a client - even for the first time - I make no effort to build rapport of any kind. But by the definitions that others are using, it would seem that I have the uncanny ability to achieve spontaneous rapport.

I have had clients where all I did was walk in, say, "What are we here for?" I let them talk for a moment, listening only to the specifics of the issue and ignoring the surrounding details, then I say, "Ok, let's do something." And away we go.

And before you think me heartless, I am quite a bit like House on the tv series of the same name. I don't care too much what they say by way of explanation because they either don't know the cause of the issue or they present a 'personal interpretation' to explain the reason for the issue. So I just listen to the issue and zap 'em.

I rarely have anything but extremely satisfied customers. Even the ones that don't get everything they want from the first session are excited about what they do get, and are anxious to see me again.

We'll, I am biased, but I think Paul Durbin and I are the two most experienced nedical hypnotherapists in the US. Paul is retired except when he teaches with me or at a conference. I am teaching a two day class in Sacramento, California in Sept. You can get details on it including how to sign up on my web site, www.tranceworkers.com under NEWS. Just scroll down and you can see the current schedule. I know the web site needs renovation but it will just have to wait until fall. To my knowledge, this will be the last time I am in California until Sept. 08. I am planning to take a year off from most, maybe all, conferences. There are some exciting opportunities I want to explore and cannot do them and all the conferences I've done in past years.

Alan,
Sorry about the delay in answering your question. it really is easy to get medical referrals. However, first, you must be able to do therapies healthcare professionals need done. In all my years I've never had a physician tell me a patient needed to be regressed or that they thought the root of the patient's problem was because of negative emotions held in the body. Get the training in medical applications of hypnotherapy first and then it is easy to convince the healthcare provider to refer their patients to you.

Every MD tells patients every day to stop smoking, lose weight, reduce the stress in your life. But they don't tell them HOW. Get out of your office and go shake hands. Tell them what you can do for their patients that they need done.

Hi!
I will be doing lots more seminars in socal, and I will be hiring a team of superstars to help with the logistics. Not just addiction training, but the Life you Love (Life's a Blast) sort of seminars.
I am thinking that I can hire 4-6 people who will work full time to create, implement and create the excellent environment for these seminars.

Wendi
