My favourite induction at the moment taken from a combination of sources. This is a colleague at my ex-work. There was no prep although he had been hypnotised by me in the past.

It doesn't look quite as bad a crash and burn as you make it out to be in the description. So, first, stop being so hard on yourself. You gave it a go, didn't get as strong a result as you would have liked, c'est la vie. Second, be wary of using tha…

i agree and say yes, anything can be used as an induction, but as you say, 'in the right situation'. never mind though, hypnosis in never guaranteed 100% of the time, forget this one and be prepared for the next time when you are luckily enough to…

What are you looking for on this site?
I am looking to develop my hypnosis skills from my fairly basic skills to perhaps end up doing some paid therapy on the side or perhaps some stage stuff if I can build up the confidence. I am looking for friends, tips and techniques and ideally a fellow hypnotist (or two) who doesn't live too far away to practice with.
About Me:
Having had a life long love of psychology, my interest has developed through body language into NLP and now hypnosis.
Hobbies:
Hobbies!? My 2 year old daughter takes up pretty much all the time I have that I am not working.
I am a big sci-fi and fantasy fan and always have about 3 or 4 books on the go at once (you know; the really fat ones that come in a minimum of trilogies). I am a big fan of Iain M Banks, R Scott Bakker, Dan Simons and I am currently reading Peter F Hamilton's Reality Dysfunction.
Hypnosis is obviously a big hobby now, and I am working hard to build my skills and confidence. I have always had an interest in all things psychological, but now I have a practical outlet for it, I'm very excited about it.

Hey Ben-

FYI - I started a discussion on helping clients who have been labeled OCD-

I suggest that you wait until you've completed additional training and have more experience before trying to help people who have mental health diagnoses help themsevles

Warmest regards,

Back @ ya - Michael E... You made a statement: This is one of those topics that many Hypnosis Practitioners have difficulty discussing. It seems to provoke a lot of emotion that can be "uncomfortable" to tolerate/experience. I wondered if you conn…

Michael, I’m not sure what you’re “just asking”. I’m not up on the “leading adult theories” regarding the accuracy of memory related to negative emotional experience. It’s my understanding that when someone is experiencing “fight/flight stress”,…

@ Michael H, Does this reaction to new information remind you of the NPR interview that you posted - about "backfire" phenomenon? A self-hypnotic avoidance of "dangerous information" that George Orwell called "Protective Stupidity" Just asking? M…
