Hypnosis and creativity

Posted on July 16, 2008 at 4:00pm 0 Comments

I would like to invite everyone to play the audio clip I just posted of a hypnosis session I did last year with my then 12 year old guitar student, Jessica. ( It's in the "my music" box on my page) She wanted to write a song. I suggested using journey hypnosis and she and her mother agreed. She slipped into a nice trance with ease and got a koala bear for a power animal spirit. The koala took her to the Sydney Australia opera house. She observed a female operatic singer. Then it was off to New… Continue

Is religion hypnosis?

Posted on July 8, 2008 at 5:00am 7 Comments

We all know that religions incorporate hypnotic techniques into their practices, preaching, sacraments, prayers, costumes, music, architecture, language, demeanor etc. ad. infinitum.

Taking a step back and refocusing on our lovely planet we observe that they have other things in common that are hypnotic in nature. I recall the droning repetitious latin mass of my youth. I also recall wandering alone through the wild areas of Michigan wondering if this was the moment that the Virgin Mary… Continue

Bill, to answer your question about whether I believe in hypnosis or medicine, I believe in both. I do not necessarily believe in the opinions expressed by the person using either of those tools. The people who have heard me lecture over the past 10 years know that I have overcome some disabling and life limiting physical illnesses using hypnosis. And, my daughter who was sent home from the hospital on hospice with a pronouncement of 6 weeks to 90 days to live has made a full recovery and is in college doing what college students do best (and that isn't studying very much if that was what you were thinking) due to hypnosis and energy work exclusively.

I believe that medicine, hypnosis, energy work, shamanism, religion are all different means of using the body's own ability to heal itself if we just get out of its way. To me, they are all just little mirrors on a big disco ball called Healing.

With your permission I would like to move this discussion to the medical group and not just to our personal comments section. I think this is something important for a wider spectrum of people to read.

Bill, I would be grateful if you joined the medical, health and wellness group and posted your comments about shamanic work there. This is something we all need to know more about and many would find your work helpful. I just read your comment about blowing the animal guide into the client's body and thought how helpful that could be to some of my clients. I'm sure others in that group would be interested also.

Been a long time. I never even check on the local meetups anymore, it seems meetup.com upset many people. I enjoy your posts and hope to hear more from you.

That's the one. I've never seen the beginning before now, but the second segment ( 2 of 8 on Google) , where the filmmakers parallel what he does as a faith healer with stage hypnosis, and break it down step by step, I find fascinating!
