It was back in the early 90's in Phoenix when a bunch of us from work (about 8 of us) went to see a stage hypnotist at the Improv. I at that time was very skeptical. The show started and was very funny. During the show and a routine where the volunteers seat would goose them, I noticed that a young lady that was in our group was acting out his scenerio. He said that your seat would goose you and that it would be very uncomfortable that you will sit on the edge of your seat and even look to change it. She would jump up a number of times and even asked the table behind us if she could change seats with them since they had a vacant seat. This amazed me to no end. I was transfixed at watching her during the routines instead of paying attention to the show.
A few years went by and I was looking on the internet to find ways to help my wife quit smoking and came across hypnosis many times. Thinking back to the Improv Hypnosis show, I wondered how a person learned hypnosis. I did not know that there was training available at that time. It was kinda mystical and thought maybe it was something passed down from generation to generation.
After that day I started purchasing books on hypnosis. I became amazed at the mystery of the brain. At how everything in this world is so over analyzed but yet the brain or the mind is still a mystery. I must have purchased 30 books before my wife convinced me I should look into training. I purchased a first module of a person's distant learning course and was very discouraged as this first module was more about his belief in Buddism then about hypnosis. I am in no way putting down Buddism by no means but am only stating that I wanted to learn hypnosis which I was not from this module. This discouraged me quite abit.
After another year or two and a few more books my wife again encouraged me to seek a different class. I found the Omni Hypnosis Center and purchased Gerrald Kein's distant learning basic and advanced course. This was what I wanted and over the next year studied this course. Even though they said to not practice on my spouse I took that as a challenge. If she would be the most difficult I would learn to put her in trance and everyone else would be easy. It worked but I would not suggest anyone go this direction unless you can fail and continue to try as I failed quite a lot. Also since I did not know hypnosis she would offer her ideas of what I was doing wrong. A very discouraging experience. I kept at it though.
After I completed that course I then read a book from Both Gerrald Kein and Cal Banyan. This led me in the direction of looking at what Cal was doing and ended up taking his 5 Path course.
I also have become interested in Stage hypnosis and have studied with a couple Stage Hypnotists in this area. I have done some shows including grad parties and private get togethers.
I now have an office in the city I live in just west of Tulsa Oklahoma. I practice hypnotherapy out of this office and am having great success.
I am also doing stage hypnosis and have worked with Richard Nongard and have taken an 8 day training with Marc Savard at Planet Hollywood who performs 6 nights a week at the "V" theatre in Las Vegas. I am continuing to learn something new each and every day. I look forward to visiting with you all and reading what you have to share.

Wife and I looked at a couple places today. Will be opening an office come March 1st. It is a nice small office that will not have a lot of overhead. I am excited. Some have asked if I had any problems working from home? Well it was fine for the clients that I have worked with. I however feel that I had missed out on maybe a quarter of the potential clients that had contacted me to work with them. It would seem that they would be wanting my services until I informed them that I had a home…

I was a guest on Richard Nongard's NongardTV this past Sunday. Had a great time and enjoyed the opportunity to visit with Richard. We discussed Weight Reduction and the techniques that he and I use. We have both similarities and differences in how we work with weight reduction clients. Isn't it awesome that we can use different approaches and still be effective? It just proves that hypnosis is a very powerful tool to help improve someone's quality of life. What a great thing hypnosis…

Was in a studio today recording my cd's to sell at my shows and for my web site. Amazing microphone. Found that a fly was present in the studio. Found it during playback. Had the fly swatter and it landed on the mic. Could not hit it as the mic cost more than I would make in a year selling my recordings. Finally got that little bugger. It only took three hours to record three cd's. Thought that was good just starting out. Going back next Sunday and hope to get four more done. I have twenty…

Was hired to do a Grad Party. Performed last night. Was the first show that I incorporated music cues. Used a 80 watt PA system. Had a great time and it went well. Had fouteen volunteers and kept ten. All ten very animated and had a great time. In audience we had about twenty five. My son was my sound man and he did a great job. It is amazing how much you learn and find that each time you do a show you have aha moments from that training along with thinking after the show how next time you…

A friend of our teenage kids had a birthday today. He had a party here at the house last night. All the kids wanted to be hypnotized and asked if I would put on a small show. Sure I said. My son's girlfriend made me pinky swear that I would not embarass her. Not a surprize she did not enter trance. Had five enter trance and three real good volunteers. It was a lot of fun. After the show they said that they did not remember most of what went on. I asked if they wanted to remember? They said…
