Jody- Never, under-estimate the power of  a child's imagination or beliefs... I can remind a client of when she was a young lady pretending that she was making, serving and drinking a cup of tea with mommy or daddy and it was if she was…

I stand corrected....but if the pretending is suggested during hypnosis...then it is much more than childlike pretending...it is then a new reality for the client. Maybe I misunderstood.

Welcome to HT.com - Jody, >>..." must come from the lips of someone who has never had any real pain" <<   Or maybe it's from the fingers of some one who is really knows what he is typing about...  FYI - I…

easy to "pretend" pain away ....must come from the lips of someone who has never had any real pain ...kidney stones.....child birth....you don't kiss that and make it better. Sure you didn't mean to that extreme..

Great stuff, Joe. I once asked my daughter, "if I kiss it away, will the pain be on my lips?" She said yes, but told me I could just lick my lips afterwards. Job done.

I always deepen before I kiss a booboo. :)   I ask my daughter "show me exactly where the booboo is. I then do a dramatic show of making sure I have the exact spot before I count to 3 and give the big kiss. I then give the PHS, "thats…

@ Aino, It is very easy to pretend pain away -- Moms and children have been pretending pain away for hundreds of generations -- "Let Mommy kiss your boo-boo and the pain will go away..." Mommy kisses the boo-boo and the pain goes…

Cathrine, Let me answer that question of induction. Keithanthony and I have worked together for a while, and before that I have worked and still work with a lot of different people, who have taught me the 'nature of trance' in many forms.…

Level or no level is not what is important. If you have ever seen Kein's Instant and rapid inductions or something like that. It has an induction that displays what can be done with a simple method involoving pretending and a couple of…

Thanks John for your own great comment, and I agree that Hypnosis is an unfortunate choice of word that James Barid chose, how much better would it have been to call it perhaps trancebuddies or something, anything else but Hypnosis the word itself…

Yay, Keith, thanks for sharing that experience. Great job on changing her belief about hypnosthesia, especially since she was previously disappointed with the glove approach.   About the only time I have used the premise of somnambulism is when…

Hi Keith, For me I'd say there's no such thing as "you not being in hypnosis but your arm still is" but you probably don't really think that either, but rather you simply worded it like that, which I think was excellent by…

Areas of Specialty:
Helping people overcome their issues. For example I have very good results with nail-biters and people who lack self-esteem
About Me:
I am originally educated as radio and tv-sound technician as well as tv-director/producer. During all my life I have always helped people using my healing techniques. Here in Canada I have become certified Master Hypnotherapist as well as EFT and NLP practitionist.

For the past twenty-five years I have been on a voyage—one that has led me to a deeper understanding not only of myself, but life. One steppingstone — or milestone — was the development of what was told me to be MS. This disease turned out to be a good friend, however, for not only did it instill me with keen personal insight, it illuminated the path my life was destined to take. Encouraged by a supportive inner voice, I brought back my good health.

Whenever I face a challenge, I know and trust that the Universe will always steer me in the right direction

Nail Biting

Posted on June 26, 2009 at 11:02am 7 Comments

A couple of months ago a young man contacted me via my website. He wanted to hear if I could help him with hypnosis overcome his problem with nail-biting.

At first I was not sure how to answer him as I had not previously had any clients with that problem at my office however I decided that his problem was a problem like any other problem so yes, I felt sure I could help him so I told him that.

He needed to think it over so after having thought about it for some time he… Continue

Hello Catherine
Hypnotherapy is not normall used in work with patients with mental health issues as it is contraindicated with patients with Schizophrenia and other mental health conditions where the patient is deemed likely to enjoy the trance state in its self and likely to resist leaving it. It is effective with Obssesive/ neurotic disorders and some depressions.Normally I would expect the patient to be refered and support by their medical practitioner.
I hope this helps.
