i made this video for my personal youtube page for hypnosis related content. i encourage all of you to watch this nice little educational hypnosis session that teaches us how we are so brainwashed by how "society" thinks we should look like, plus…
Basically to learn how hypnosis techniques can be used to treat mental issues, and learning all i can about the mind and how it really works, while also aiding others using hypnosis from my own experiences.
Areas of Specialty:
Mostly deep relaxation and stress/anxiety, also helping with mild insomnia. If requested, i can make sessions for them if it can be kept at a "beginner" level at the moment. If your interested in seeing a few samples of my work that i would come up with from scratch (well, also with the help of the foundations in hypnotherapy course from the HMI, in which I graduated from in January '09. Now I plan to soon embark on my new journey into moving much closer to the school to finally take my training to the next level), i have a youtube page with a fair few sample sessions ive done. i also regularly make 'vlogs' on my current life situations which you can find on my new youtube page: 'thelifeofjuneyankee'. and just be aware though, because i am a sufferer of many things, i have up some disturbing stories on there too (see below for details). but anyway, the link to my main youtube page is: http://www.youtube.com/user/JuneYankee. About Me:
Hi everyone. Im here so that I can hopefully be helped/advised by other people who have a bit more knowledge in treating mental issues using hypnosis. But first, I will tell you a little bit about myself. I have Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, I am also battling major depression and severe anxiety with panic attacks. When normal therapy has failed, I started seeing a hypnotherapist. She is currently helping me to cope with my obsessive and negative thinking and minimize my rituals and some of my anxiety. I feel comfort and safe when Im in her office. She is like my second best friend. She is saying to me that I have progressed quite a bit. But in reality, all Ive seen is my depression being lifted just a little, and I have little hope for overcoming my OCD. I constantly develop new and creative ways of coping with my life "hell" with the aid of self-hypnosis! My new interests that involve self healing are: rapid/speed inductions and crystal therapy.
Hobbies:
Umm....I like to make beaded jewelry, (Im a big fan of gemstones/rhinestones and anything sparkly!). I like to swim, meditate, sleep, networking through the internet, and do all sorts of crafts. but my main focus right now is learning how to get better by means of hypnotherapy. i can also make pre-recorded sessions as mp3 files for others as well as myself!
.......is almost here! learn the true meaning of what hypnosis REALLY is all about by visiting this site, http://www.worldhypnotismday.com/ and celebrate hypnosis with a bang!!!! LOL! lets face it peeps, all of us, whether we know it or not, go in and out of some kinda trance every single day.
Day to celebrate is January 4th, so DONT MISS IT!!!!! happy trancing!
Hey there... pendulums are a neat way to perform an induction. Tell me about ham radio, that is interesting... I studied for my license after they eliminated the code requirement but never ended up taking the test. - Will
Hey, Just reading you profile. Beauty is only skin deep (i mean look at my profile picture! and my wife and daughter love me), you are who you are and of course you deserve to live or you wouldnt be here in the first place. I cant say i know how you feel because i dont, but I have a minor ocd and that alone can be distressing, and unfortunatly someone very close to me has mental health problems. All we can do is try our best to help each other and if want to talk / cheer up what ever we are here. Just leave a coment or if online at the same time try online chat / instant messaging. Take care and catch you around. Adrian.
Extreme anxiety and OCD rituals are very hard to deal with but I do suggest that you be up front with your therapist about your feelings and fears that the treatment isn't working. If you hold all of this in, it just increases your already anxious life and the therapist will not know to change her direction in treatment. If you feel comfortable with your therapists than give her a change to be there for you as you go through the ups and downs of your healing process.
I am doing my internship for Mental Health Counseling at an acute psychiatric ward in a hospital and am dealing with many patients that are dealing with what you are going through. It is scary but do have faith that you can find your way through this. Sometimes the medications are not right and have to be adjusted or changed. Remember that there is not exact science when physicians prescribe medications to correct brain chemistry so if what you are taking is not working; it is perfectly OK to say so. Doctors go by what the patient tells them about symptoms. If you see no change than they should be willing to look at changing your meds but if you don't tell them they won't know to do so. I have seen many patients have to have their medications changed before they find relief. It is possible that if the meds aren't right for you than the medications can give you strange reactions and make you feel depressed or more anxious. I worked with one patient that was taking a medication for anxiety and it made her psychotic. Certainly it wasn’t supposed to do that at all! Very quickly the Dr. changed the medication. At first she felt like she was at fault that she was going crazy--she didn't realize it was just an adverse reaction to the medicine.
If you feel hopeless but not suicidal tell your therapists about your frustration. If you feel suicidal do get help fast. If you need hospitalization to get your medication right or get you stable know that you won’t have to stay there long. Most people are afraid if they go to a hospital they never get out. Our patients generally stay about four days –just long enough for the doctors to see that the patient isn’t having an adverse or allergic reaction and symptoms are stabilizing. They do group therapy and do individual therapy to help them cope. I have seen patients get better--so don't give up.
Finding a good Hypnotherapist can help you reduce your anxiety and help you explore events that may be triggering your OCD and depression. Talk to your therapist about this option and ask her what she thinks. If she doesn’t do hypnosis she may know someone in your area that does. Working together a therapist and hypnotist can really help people with depression and OCD and may even speed up your recovery.
I wish you the best.
Above all be kind to yourself. You have a lot on your plate. I tell the patients that I work with to take baby steps; put one foot in front of the other and pretty soon you will see that you have traveled a very far distance on your road to recovery. You sound like a really neat person and the world needs people like you.
Good luck with your recovery. Let me know how it goes.
