Optimism = Hope, Trust and Faith

As a certified Hypnotherapist, Trainer and Professional Coach, I am constantly on the look out for information that will help guide my clients to a more peaceful and less chaotic life. Well, I just finished reading Michael J Fox’s new book: Always Looking Up (The Adventures of an Incurable Optimist). This book was utterly fantastic and I recommend it as a great read.In the book, Mike talks about his battle with Parkinson’s disease and how he began the process of creating a foundation for its…See More

The Science of Influence Demonstrated by the Cat

Just a fun little article that I thought you all might enjoy. It is so important to keep our sense of humour during stressful economic times.“Way down deep, we’re all motivated by the same urges.Cats have the courage to live by them.”American Cartoonist Jim DavisAlthough by all accounts I am really a dog person, my daughter Kezia would definitely argue the merits of the feline species. I love the obedience of a dog. Kezia loves the independent spirit of her cat. So, after talking to both her…See More

Good tips, Faith. Very good things to keep in mind when doing public speaking of any type. Another good tip is to remember that people usually won't notice if you mess up. If you mess up, just course-correct and move on. Chances are, no one…

Which of your innate strengths will be contributing to your success the most?

There has been a lot of media attention lately relating to small businesses and the recession. I, myself have even been writing articles and blogs about how to survive and thrive in a slowing economy. I have also been putting a bit of thought into the strategic attitude tools I have acquired through various learning opportunities (some good, some I would rather not repeat again).Consider this for a moment - Which of your innate strengths will be contributing to your success the most?If we hope…See More

A few insights for all the Speakers and Trainers Out There

Posted on March 4, 2009 at 5:47am 4 Comments

Yesterday I attended the Power Within Conference in Calgary. It has been at least 5 years since I last attended. After taking note of the crowds accumulating in the room, I remembered why. However, the crowds are not why I elected to go. I attended this year in order to take a closer look at the presentation styles of some of the more high profile speakers who would be engaging the audience this year. I wanted to focus on how they shared their messages with both a broad and large audience. I… Continue

Recession Proofing Your Mental State

Posted on March 3, 2009 at 7:00am 2 Comments

I recently received an email from a client who has found herself struggling with layoffs and financial woes during this recession. She wrote:: "I am waiting for a miracle - the Tooth Fairy or someone to come and rescue us". Sound familiar? How many of us are waiting for a similar miracle?

The Recession has hit Canada, but for me, I am actually beginning to enjoy the slower pace. It gives me time to think, create and attract. Last year, I spent the whole year 'chasing my tail' as it… Continue
