James, You're right. Since lately I had larger groups especially at colleges and high schools, I think I neglected engaging with the audience enough. Thanks for the feedback. Gyula

Pre-talk usually is helpful and I would suggest to do that. And some simple hypno-experiments. The point is, that you never know what kind of assumptions or excpectations people in the audience have. If you work together with the whole audience, you…

Audiences in general love to participate, so I say give them something to do at the beginning of the show. Any performer is in some sense a hypnotist--when I do storytelling or music, I'm guiding my audience through various states and getting…

When I have had small groups (say 15-20) I have done a goup induction with all, then pulled bmy volunteers onstage after the group induction from the audience. Both ways will work.

Induction to all or volunteers only

Hi to all, I have another question. What are the pros and cons to pre-induction to the whole audience or after pre-talk just ask for volunteers? Should I ask for volunteers even with a small group or it is safer to engage the whole audience? Any thoughts on my dilemma? Appreciate your input, GyulaSee More

Hi James, Here you go. The first 2 of your suggestions should make a difference because I haven't mentioned them for years! That would explain some of the reluctance. Thank you. Gyula

Hi Gyula, In your opening pre talk make sure to remind that they will not do anything under hypnosis they didn't want to do or say. Also let them know that on hour of hypnosis is equal to 8 hours of sleep. Stress that it takes a creative mind…

Small groups to hypnotize

Hi Everyone, I truly appreciate the warm welcome from all of you. I have 2 shows coming up this week and have a question regarding one of them. Threre will be only around 35 -40 people for a company party, and well, it is a winery. Lately I have difficulties to hypnotize people in small groups due to either someone drank too much or some just want to watch the show or taking picture.Anyone would give me some advice regarding small groups? Thank you. Julius See More
