Ian Read replied to Ian Collins's discussion 'Does NLP become a slightly risky if not dangerous sect?'
I find the way some people defend it on certain forums dedicated to NLP and the way they deal with people, definitely reminds me of a dodgy sect at times, and I am an NLP practitioner myself.

Yes. It is a great induction in many ways.

Doing shows and finding clients for same is somewhat different from finding therapy clients I think.

Buy a Lightscribe CD/DVD burner and you will be able to make pretty impressive CDs with that.

I'm with you Saul; although I can appreciate it is hard to set up in this business and that might and does make many give up.

That material looks to be good stuff. How applicable would it be to the UK?

Hi Ian, I simply go into the salons and just introduce myself and ask if I can leave some leaflets on their tablet were client wait to be seen.....I have only a few that said no but I just carry on. Then after month I would go into each salon with a letter for the salon owner offering them and one of their staff half price treatment for weight loss, stop smoking or anything else really, as a way of saying thank you for helping me advertise in their premises. This brings in good response and you are increasing your rapport with the salon owners. Hypnosis has a fascination throughout the world. When you introduce yourself as a hypnotist or hypnotherapist people get excited. There still seems to be that mysticism with our profession but use it to your advantage. Your a hypnotist, play on that, sell yourself and your goods to everyone :)
