Would anyone be able to comment on how "Ego States" compares to Roy Hunter's "Hypnosis for Inner Conflict Resolution"?   Much Thanks,   Josh

I have to agree with everyone here, this book is a priceless resource. The cost may be a little high, but it is well worth it. There is an absolute wealth of information on formation of suggestions and metaphors along with many many scripts that can…

The finger thing that happened with this client is very common. When I'm hypnotized, sometimes I start to lose sensations in my fingers and hands and feel like they are in air but in reality they are resting on my sides. If you want to use…

Yes,   It happens all the time.   As a person becomes involves in hypnosis, the proprioceptive system often stops working as well. So they can not tell whether the finger has lifted or not. (but they often feel it touching down again) this…

Ideomotor Signalling

Hello all, I have always used ideomotor signalling (via finger lift) with my clients for yes/no answers, and at times have used the head nod. I prefer to use the finger lift as I find it is a good convincer, and have heard that it gives better access to the subconscious mind. I know that a head nod accomplishes the same thing, but everyone does that all the time. I sometimes will have them speak in hypnosis but my most of clients prefer not to talk in hypnosis as most find it bothersome. So what…See More

First Office!

Posted on August 31, 2010 at 10:43am 5 Comments

Hello my fellow hypnotists!

It has been a while since I've done any blogging and I think it is time for a catch up.

I've moved from Regina to Moose Jaw and things are all looking up for me. I have an amazing girlfriend, friends, and a job as a hypnotherapist that I absolutely love! I am currently working at the Sahara Spa in Moose Jaw and business is starting to pick up. I have an office in the spa and they will be doing advertising for me and…

Creekside Show... Better Late Then Never!

Posted on September 7, 2009 at 1:20pm 2 Comments

As you have probably heard from Amanda, we had our second show at the Creekside Pub on August 30. To sum it up in a few short words, it rocked. I'm not tooting my own horn. We had some sound problems and I could have performed better then I did. It was the volounteers, the stars of the show who rocked. I'm not cutting myself short either. We did the pre-talk almost flawlessly, and before the induction was even half-way done there were people slumping over in their chairs onto the person next to… Continue

Hey You

Posted on June 4, 2009 at 5:55pm 1 Comment

While listening to Pink Floyd's "Hey You" it hit me, Hey you, out there on the net, stranger that I've never met, would you hear me?

Latley I've been very stressed out, to the point of the smallest incidents or nothing at all would give me anxiety attacks. And it makes me think if I can do this show coming up in 2 days... The stress and negative self talk are really bringing me down, physicaly and mentaly. But I keep pushing on because I really WANT to do this, I NEED to do this. So… Continue

How are things with you?

Posted on April 20, 2009 at 9:09am 0 Comments

I haven't been very active on Hypnothoughts lately but i'm still around. I've been busy with work and other things including hypnosis related things :) . Me and my friend Amanda have been practicing using different hypnotic language patterns and coming up with other things which has given us, or at least me, a lot of insight into hypnosis. You can learn the most amazing things from some of the littlest seemingly insignificant things. I'm doing alright, hope everyone else is too. So I leave with… Continue

OOPS!!! I forgot...

Posted on February 13, 2009 at 6:55am 3 Comments

In my last blog post I mentioned how I had enrolled in a hypnosis certification course. And in the comments I had said I would keep you all updated on how I was doing...oops!!! I forgot. So I shall update you all now. As of January 20, 2009 I became a certified hypnotist! So that was exciting for me. Since then I have been practicing and have watched Richard Nongard and John Cerbone's Speed and Street Trance DVDs. I am becoming more confident in myself as a hypnotist and I keep looking for… Continue

Hi Joshua! I came to Saskatchewan to be with my partner who is a Mountie. California has no need for a Canadian Mountie but Canada sure needs a good hypnotherapist! I may be attending an upcoming trade show in Moose Jaw. Maybe I'll see you there.
