As an afterthought, tell the forum where you are and you may get some kind student or newly qualified hypnotist that will give you a free practice session. Have a look around the forums, there may be some training related ones.

You really need to visit a professional hypnotist. Group sessions and audio/video aids are not 'reliable hypnosis', and you should not judge your 'hypnotisabilty' by them.

Immune or Unlucky?
I would like to be hypnotized, but thus far have been unable to enter the trancelike state normally associated with hypnosis. I was part of a group hypnosis, but was among those who remained entirely unaffected. I have also tried hypnosis through audio and video files - nonpersonalized, of course - online, to no avail. I actually did manage self-hypnosis once, but only once, and only to immobilize my arms.
Is it impossible for me to do better, or have I just not managed to find what works?
