"Agreed, that would be a close third for me. In fact, I think all three are more about principles than merely actual inductions. So, I probably incorporate elements of them in almost every induction I do. "

Where do you live?
Miami, FL
Hypnosis Experience:
No Hypnosis Experience
What are you looking for on this site?
Direction for legitimate study and practice of Hypnotism as a second career. Further explanation of the reality of Hypnotism (I see the testimony and body of work, but I have yet to experience hypnotism myself)
Areas of Specialty:
None
About Me:
Had a copy of "Frogs into Princes" by Bandler and Grinder back in 1979 when it first came out. Read it, loved it. (But something weird, I could SWEAR I read it before 1979! I thought I read it in High School, but I graduated in 1979 and was in Miami already. Perhaps I owned it in college...)
I am an Air Traffic Control Supervisor, after a 21+-year career as a controller and instructor. I am eligible to retire October 2011.
I have never hypnotized or been hypnotized by someone, although my family used to be able to do or say anything to me in a room when I was reading as a kid, so I suppose I am capable of a deep trance state. I still do it, now more often when reading on the computer or writing or spreadsheeting.
Hobbies:
Big fan of Milton Erickson, Nicola Tesla, and Teddy Roosevelt. Write fiction, publish ebooks on Amazon (not my own), love moving averages and Fibonacci sequences. A happy family man with a wonderful wife and five awesome kids (now grown).

I like the idea of starting with rapid (or instant) inductions and "stage" or entertainment hypnosis. The one thing I've seen from this site so far is that there are many conflicting ideas about not only what hypnotists do, but what hypnotism IS.

Frankly, the control/mentoring debate is…

I will start here.

If you are reading this, sometime in the further future, you will find my path. I have had nothing to take with me on this road but a jumbled bag of jargon, myth, concepts, dire warnings and bad advice. Ahead surely lie swindlers and highwaymen, the unimaginative and warlocks, wise women and men along with fools and the self-deluded, the evil the good and those not ruled by law.

There is no sure way, no sign, no well-traveled road - only…
