The client who couldn't swallow pills was interesting. Discovered that she had seen her mother holding pet dog's mouth shut to force down tablets then the dog died! A few weeks later her little brother died becuase he swallowed his own vomit (he had epilepsy). The problem was not really about swallowing but an absolute terror of what the tablets could do to her. Have done lots of reframes and EFT with some trance work.
If i had a client that would not take pills, I would dream up an indirect metaphor.She might respond to this modality.
