The short answer is you can't completely stop misinformation and as you see here many people do not agree on what hypnosis is or how it works. But we are making baby steeps and your are staring to see hypnosis used and shown in a more positive…

James,   You said "When you say yes to those questions, people think you are claiming that you can go up to anyone on the street and make them your slave."   The FAQ isn't very long or detailed. In the few words I did use, I…

I just listened to a free recording (well, almost free, I had to sign up for the newsletter) from a hypnotist specializing in smoking cessation. The free recording was aimed at stress relief and complimented the listener on how much they had learned…

I first posted this blog entry as a joke, but have since discovered if I add a finger snap to my commands to the dog, she obeys promptly where before she would take her time. [Snap]Sit!

Great topic! My most memorable moment in hypnosis was at the end of a regression, seeing a younger version of myself, freed from his room after so many years, running off to play on the big slide. Lic

One of the ways I use Twitter to make connections is to search for topics that interest me and follow the thought leaders I find in those areas. Often they will follow me back, or at least look at my tweets to see if I interest them. I don't…

What are you looking for on this site?
I write and record immersive stories that use trance to involve the listener directly in the action. Two samples (both PG with no explicit content) are here in the Music section of my profile.

Hypno Hairdresser takes you into Anton's salon. Anton is a sincere, but not too competent hypnotist who wants his clients to have a relaxing experience. It's just that he's easily distracted ("Nice shoes!")

Vampire Festival is a darker story for those who want to experience the thrill of a conflict with a supernatural being. Careful, though. Sebastian is powerful and he has his hungry eyes on you . . .

Writing - fiction, drama, poetry

Energy Boost

Posted on August 13, 2010 at 4:58am 3 Comments

A friend of mine seems to talk NLP as her native language. Her posts are full of uplifting and almost relentlessly positive imagery. The embedded commands and language patterns are a thing of beauty. I kid her that I don't need a text book to learn NLP. All I have to do is follow her internet posts.

Then last night, I happened to have conversations with three women. One had just lost her job, after having an enthusiastic annual review and a raise two months ago. Even though she's… Continue

Limiting Our Beliefs

Posted on August 11, 2010 at 11:19am 7 Comments

Normally I encourage people to get rid of limiting beliefs, but in this case, I believe that people on HypnoThoughts need to start limiting their belief that they can say anything to anyone without consequences.

Three members have now commented to me about behavior that they find unacceptable: rudeness, arguing and being opinionated. These members don't make a big deal out of it. They just stop posting or delete their accounts entirely.

I would remind members that all of… Continue

Hypnosis and Creativity

Posted on August 3, 2010 at 6:55am 4 Comments

Can we use hypnosis to unlock a person's creativity?

I have listened to half a dozen hypnotic recordings in this area, including the excellent one released by Richard Nongard recently. As someone who is constantly squeezing his creative endeavors between the responsibilities of job and family, it is important to me to make the best use of my time in the moments available to me.

One of the approaches I have listened to worked on my visualization skills and my ability to… Continue

NLP Language Pattern: "I get to . . . "

Posted on July 12, 2010 at 1:45pm 2 Comments

Two women were talking about getting themselves motivated and one of them shared her self-talk. I loved it and thought it deserves a place with the other NLP Language Patterns.

The issue was climbing hills on the bike. The first woman complained about how steep they are in her area. The other one said, "Yeah, I used to feel that way too, but now I say to myself, 'I get to go biking with my husband. I get to be out in the fresh air and sunshine.'"

In life, as well as… Continue

Hi Lic,
You are in my very small file of favorite people. A hero, in fact. I havent' forgotten your tape. I'm still in computer hell. this is my 4th dell that doesn't work properly. Thank you for your support. It is so wonderful when other people besides me see beyond socially accepted nonsense and support truth.

I am intrigued, hypno-hairdresser, dig the name! Still laughing at the above....hypnosis can enlarge breasts! LOL. Not something i need....i hasten to add! The boyfriend can kiss my tush, getting over the crap he did to my mind....the guy is delusional but won't admit it....now there's a guy who really needs regression
He used phrases like you've just been crucified, and had an obsession with the kabalah back to front, not sure if i was a test zone for his delusional experiments.
However, any tips on relationship issues related to this site are more than welcome.
P.s. Like your humour

Would love to speak with you more. Your responses intrigue me as well as your ideologies.

You would seemingly disquiet some with your name alone, but instead I'm somehow drawn in...maybe I should look at that? haha :D

Needless to say, I understand you in a way.... Maybe it's the writer in me?

Anyway... it will be nice to have someone to talk with. Obviously, sitting at home on Friday night, kids gone for the night and still preparing for a dilly bar run & blogging on this site (and playing Civ) shows what a pathetic lifestyle I have these days.

Lic...

so kind of you to comment. wasn't expecting much upon joining, but find myself oddly attracted here. been interested in much of what's discussed here for some time, but unsure if i would be accepted...guess i am so far.

strangely enough, i had been here reading posts some time ago & accidentally came upon someone who's involved here in a search (for character/safety purposes)....so felt as if it were a sign to stick around. i listen to the universe...hopefully it's nothing else :P

i am very interested though.... when it seems there's no other ideas left, sometimes the abstract is the only hope.
