It's a good video until it goes all ASCH on it. I like the Doctor's enthusiasm for Hypnosis. Thank you for sharing!

Richard, you never fail to amaze me with how freely you share great information. It's a large part of what separates you from many other instructors out there. It's obvious, or you're one hell of an actor, that your passion for…

Lonnie Scott replied to James Hazlerig's discussion 'The Search for a Better Term than "Lay"'
I used to think Hypnotherapist was the way to go. Then I decided it was like smoking because it looks cool. It just sounded cool to me. My certificate from my initial NGH training says so. I no longer feel that way. The therapist portion of the…

Lonnie Scott replied to James Hazlerig's discussion 'The Role of Scripts in Instruction--Is Yapko Exaggerating?'
We did use scripts in my training. The dependency on them was weakened a little at a time. The final day when we had a performance review, we were expected to use an induction and elicit hypnotic phenomena along the NGH depth scale all without a…

Nice summary post, Scott. I think it's a good idea for you to point out key discussions in a digest form like this. Thank you. I'm interested in the book by Mr. Hunter. I looked at the description, but I didn't see the number of pages…

Lonnie Scott replied to Scott Sandland's discussion 'What do you think of the new Home Page'
I second the vote to improve the search function if that's possible. I like the color scheme, but I did think it looked better before. Otherwise, I like it overall. Navigation is easy. The sections are clear. I'm not sure what else it…

Lonnie Scott replied to Kathryn Beck's discussion 'What to do if they don't follow initial instructions?' in the group All About Smoking Cessation
Looks like I'm the odd man out. I used various approaches to smoking cessation for several of my first months. None of them ever set well with me, but they worked. I was a smoker myself. The hypocrite hypnotist. I started thinking about what it…

That's very awesome of Yapko! Richard, you're a good soul for asking. I have to admit that I'm a little surprised he replied to a Hypnotist who performs on stage. His writing clearly indicates his disgust with that. Beyond that,…

Lonnie Scott replied to Linda Roan's discussion 'Aversion therapy' in the group All About Smoking Cessation
I'm not a fan of aversion techniques. I'm a former smoker. I quit using my own program. Smokers face aversion reasons to quit every day in the form of warnings, commercials, health hazards, rude comments by friends, family or strangers,…

I specialize in Smoking Cessation, and I don't care how resistant you are. You will stop! My other areas of work are in stress, anxiety, and fears. These are my favorite areas of work.

I'm also enjoying the realm of Street Hypnosis. Bringing the wonder and joy of hypnotic phenomena to the public is fun!

In case you haven't read Part 1, it is here: http://www.hypnothoughts.com/profiles/blogs/office-10-the-good-the-bad

My first public relations experience had come and gone. The story ran in the newspaper, and despite the fairly terrible article, it still won me clients. I was on a roll. Meanwhile, my job that pays the bill (bartending) provided a decent platform to talk about hypnosis…

Have you ever been excited about a dream come true? Well, I was. In January of 2010 I was a brand new shiny hypnotist. Certified and ready to run for a few months. The business was named. All the proper laws had been followed. I had an accountant, a marketing plan, and an office. Now, if I left it that way you might think I had it figured out. Afterall, those words sound good.

My accountant is a brilliant entrepreneur with multiple businesses. One of those is a Salon and Wig boutique.…
