Teenage Hypochondriac

I have a client coming up whose mother says her daughter is a hypochondriac.  She is getting more fearful of going out, afraid she will "catch" something.  Or if something does happen, such as getting hit in the head she goes straight to the probability that she has brain damage.  Any thoughts on this would be helpful. Do you also see that more teens are having these thoughts?
