Hi Bill,      That makes good sense. I agree with you about dual relationships. Even without expressly being told to not use hypnosis one on one with students 2 years ago by those with authority over him, it would appear unwise…

Well its good to see that Mesmer is still stirring up controversy hundreds of years after his passing. I think the moderators do a fine job as it is, a bit of honing never goes astray though. I think it would be appropriate if mods could remove…

Hypnosis and Mesmerism Training; Working with Cancer; Degenerative and Psycho-Somatic Health Conditions
About Me:
I've had an interest in hypnosis since I was about 12 but didn't get around to officially learning it until 1990. At that time NLP was growing in popularity, and I beleived that Ericksonian hypnosis was the be all and end all of hypnosist.
Now 18 years later, and after ten years of researching Franz Anton Mesmer, Magnetism, Hypnotic Fascination and traditional hypnosis I'm significantly a traditionalist and a fundamentalist and I consider Ericksons techniques as aspects of hypnosis that are useful and effective once a genuine hypnotic trance is induced.
I am a hypnosis trainer and the founder and principal of Mind Motivations Hypnosis and The Australian Academy of Hypnosis.
I think there is a vast difference between hypnosis and therapy and that all hypnotists need to get real trance induction down pat before trying to bring therapeutic aspects into play.
I have a passion for the old art and am not too big on what is now taught as Ericksons work 30+ years after his passing, or NLP as a stand alone therapy for that matter. They may help in therapy, but in my opinion they are not in themselves real hypnosis.
If you disagree with me I apologise in advance but it an experienced based opinion as I was a staunch Ericksonian hypnotherapist for 5 years. These days I train, use, and encourage traditional hypnosis.
When I'm not training I do public speaking, corporate and personal motivation & mass hypnosis group events, and pro bono experimental work with cancer and degenerative diseases.
My work has taken me all over the world during the past ten years and I also have a very successful Personal Hypnotherapy CD range which have sold more than 650,000 copies since 2000. The CDs have been used and endorsed by world champion cyclists, boxers, martial artists, race car drivers, rowers, and triathletes and hollywood actors and actress's. They have now been awarded 2 Platinium and 5 Gold ARIA Awards, which is Australia's version of a Grammy.
I have completed 5 media and lecture tours through the US, and 8 through the UK since 2006, also working with sports people, entertainers and actors. Much of my media can be seen on my website or on my YouTube page "thehypnoman".
In my opinion if you can't perform rapid inductions to real effect, then regardless of what your piece of paper says, you might be a good therapist, but your not a hypnotist in the true sense of the word.
My Next Mission; To attend some training with the great Gil Boyne.
My Philosophy!!!!! The only place you start at the top is when you dig a hole. If you want to get to the top in hypnosis, learn it properly so you can walk your talk, make long term goals and achieve them with short term plans, and never lose sight of the end goal. Don't give up and don't give in AND GET YOURSELF IN THE MEDIA AS OFTEN AS YOU CAN; for all the right reasons of course.
Hobbies:
Living life and helping others to better theirs; The Mind; Collecting and Reading Old Hypnosis Books; Frequencies & Consciousness; Sports Cars; Travelling; Writing; Learning; Teaching; Public Speaking. Being Me.

Rick,

This note is by way of thanking you.

Over two years ago, shortly after discovering the power of hypnosis, I purchased one of your CD’s s - Relaxation and Stress Reduction. I still listen to it.

I was recently diagnosed with a macular hole in my right eye. It will probably require surgery, but it could repair on its own. Although the opthamologist said there was nothing I could do to make it worse or better, I thought of what I’ve accomplished through hypnosis. The hypnotherapist I see doesn’t have an opening for two weeks, and even though I’ve learned so much from him about hypnosis, NLP, etc., I want guidance when starting on a new situation.

So yesterday, I thought I’d see if you had any MP3’s that might help. I downloaded and listened to Mind Body Healing. What an incredible experience. It is so powerful. I slept better last night and feel so much better today. Am so looking forward to my hour with you today.

Again, thank you for sharing your knowledge and gift. No matter the outcome (surgery or no surgery), this will help me be much more positive about what will happen in the next few months.

Hi Rick...I have so appreciated your many comments to the various posts on HypnoThoughts and decided to buy one of your MP3's...

...I paid my money, got the verification of payment and then the email with the link to the download...but the link to the download did NOT work...I tried it several times...3 out of 3 attempts to download DID NOT work and then my order was negated because there is maximum of 3 attempts to download...I'm am disappointed and of course have now lost my money...this is the problem that the public fears with hypnotists--not getting what they paid for. Oh well, a lesson learned and money lost...I WON'T buy anymore products from your website.
