Even as we speak we're trying to arrange for the handouts to get posted to the library as well. It looks like we may try for a free conference call at about 8 am Pacific tomorrow to demo the "tongue unlock" relaxation technique that I…

Great presentation this morning Bob! Thanks so much. Folks, if you missed it, visit the library. If you're not signed up, there's still time as you have 3 weeks to view the videos in the library.

Follow on from "Working Workers' Compensation" this morning on Hypnosummit

Several folks have asked for handouts and a live demonstration of a relaxation technique that I mentioned this morning.  Please email me at Bob@uncommonapproach.com for the handouts, and let me know if you'd like to join a teleconference (just a few minutes) tomorrow for a demo of the technique...All the BestBobSee More

Robert Aurbach replied to Michael Ellner's discussion 'Do You Want To Mainstream Your Practice and Can It Be Done Without Government Regulation or Compromising Our Effectiveness? I say Yes!'
There are two senses of the word "effectiveness (maybe more) inherent in the question. One is the ability to help the particular client in front of us achieve the results that they wish and that best serve them. I'm not really seeing that…

Hey Michael Just got around to seeing this (it came in during a busy time in Oz) I think it's spot-on, and wondered what kind of reaction you got to it..... Bob

Robert Aurbach replied to Michael Ellner's discussion '"Hypnosis: Professionalism or Quackery" Summer 2009/APA's Div 30 Newsletter: Psychological Hypnosis'
I read the article - thanks Michael - and can't help but wonder at the underlying theme and presumption. The article says that legal recognition is the key to recognition and legitimization. Therefore, the article concludes, we should embrace…

Hi Robert,

"How did I pick YOU out of the crowd?" Simply geography, my friend.

As the Mountain Region Lead for World Hypnotism Day, my focus is on connecting with those who live in 7 states: UT, ID, MT, WY, AZ, CO.... and New Mexico.
My intention is to be of support to hypnotists in those states in particular, in promoting and benefitting from WHD. I'll let you know when I have something to sent out on the subject, OK?

Warmly,
Gwyneth

I did take a look at your (quite impressive) website...
I'm just a newbie, but I have an unusual focus, I think.... I got into this in dealing with my "retirement" issues - and quickly realized that the adjustment issues (not to mention chronic pain) of injured workers also presented some of the same complex of issues, and was also a relatively untapped area. I've already established interest with my local contacts in the WC industry, so will probably be moving relatively quickly.... I'm newly NGH and IMDHA, learning as fast as I can, while keeping my other business and the editorship of a professional journal (the Journal of the International Association of Industrial Accident Boards and Commissions) intact. My direct email is Bob@uncommonapproach.com - might be easier....

Scary how people run into each other after nearly four decades, isn't it? My history is a bit varied - I'm a full-time entertainer (magic, mentalism and hypnosis) and I also hold Illinois licenses in Life, Health and Accident insurance as an independent agent (for those slow months in the entertainment biz).

I had to quit the martial arts after reaching 3rd dan in Okinawan karate as the knees decided that the wear and tear was getting to be too much.

First marriage went okay, divorced amicably. Second one, well, her attorney apologized to me about his client when I bumped into him over a year later when I was at the Courthouse doing some business records stuff. It included three separate actions that I had to file for defamation of character - I won all three - the last one being in, get this! - Bankruptcy Court (she tried to bankrupt out from under my, as then un-adjudicated action against her!)

Currently married to Nanci for almost 12 years, no kids, and our wedding has been seen on TV on over 31 countries.

I also wrote the first book devoted solely to the topic of stage hypnosis safety, taught the first class on the topic at the NGH convention in 2006 and am currently working with 5 other hypnotists, including Richard Nongard, as part of the group that's writing the Standards & Practices requirements for stage hypnotists (including those who do lecture demonstrations) for a major insurance company.

If you want to get an idea of who I've been performing for, take a peek at my web site at www.leedarrow.com

I really do appreciate the help you gave me - I don't know if I would have had as "good" a result without that look and the aditional care it sparked....
My consulting practice is under the name of "Uncommon Approach, Inc." Since the focus of my practice will likely overlap a bit with the consulting practice, I think I'll just leave it the way it is and worry about any confusion later.... My website is www.uncommonapproach.com

I am sorry. yes I do believe you were allergic to the suture material. Very, very, likely. I am just so very happy that it is healed. I remember the look I gave you and have honestly never have done that before. I believe I really needed to be in touch with the inner you to understand, which you did, see.
Have you found out a name for your business? I do not want to hear it now. Its just that is not easy either. My son is taking the weekend class and is very pumped. He is now learning everything there is about running a company, web site etc. He has his name already. He is also younger and has more readily available contacts. lucky him. Great to hear from u again.

Diane
